I sprouted some wheat a couple days ago and when it was finished I wasn't quite ready to use it so I put in the the fridge.

A couple days later I got it out to use it and it had continued sprouting. It had a really nice but definitely 'green' smell to it. It looked good and didn't have any mould or anything on it.

Should I have still used it for my blueberry bread? The bread has a little bit of a green smell to it. Is this alright , is anything wrong with it? Should I still eat it?

Thanks,
Chanda

It just sounds like you sprouted your wheat too long. Your bread should be safe to eat, but it'll probably taste a bit like chlorophyll.

The reason the wheat continued to sprout is because most grains are cold weather crops so the refrigerator is a perfect place for them to continue to grow. I bet they'll be great though, even though they kept on going.
