I am wanting to make Alissa's Barbeque Chicken Fingers which calls for 2 cups of sprouted lentils. The sprouting guide says it will take 2-3 days to sprout the lentils. I of course want to make these today. Can you put organic store bought sprouts.........such as alfalpha sprouts or some other sprouts or in the flafa??? receipe they used almonds instead of sprouts I thought it said? New to this world of spouting and not very patient at this point in my raw journey to wait for 3 days to make something I want NOW!!!

Thanks for your help.

I think the idea is the lentils (sprouted) and not the actual sprouts for this recipe.

Maybe you could use some kind of nut in place of the lentils, it might be different than the original recipe but hey...you might find you like it better!

Just like Alissa said on her DVD that her Carrot-Pecan Burgers were originally made with walnuts but she was out of walnuts one day and used pecans instead and they were better. So, try it without the lentils but with maybe almonds and see how you like them! Maybe even make a smaller batch like half or quarter.

3 days seems like a long time. Can you buy this stuff already sprouted? also, when you do sprout the lentils do you add just the sprouts to the receipe or all of it?

Thanks

Well, in our local co-op I've seen sprouted lentils sold in a little container with the alfalfa sprouts, etc.

You use the whole thing, lentil and the little sprout tail. I really don't think it would take 3 days...times very. If it were me, I'd probably just soak them overnight and use the next day without the sprouts THIS time. But that's just me :)
