Will someone please tell me what nuts are raw and what nuts aren't. :( Our local HFS sells raw: walnuts, brazil nuts, almonds, cashews....and pecans! What is truly raw and what is wishful thinking? They all say raw organic...but a week ago I had some of their cashews...and knew with in 10 minutes they weren't. :confused: My nose plugged right up! I would love to have some nuts to chose from, but now I'm afraid of them all. Could someone please tell me which are safe...and which aren't!?!?! Thank you!

there is really no way that I can tell you which is raw or not, as I don't know what you have available, you really need to talk to the manufacturer or the distributor, if they say RAW, it can simply mean NOT roasted, it doesn't necessarily mean they aren't heated above 115 degrees. so it's best to call or email the manufacturer to be safe.

Or you can do as you did, buy just a bit of each and try them one each day to find out.

But I buy my nuts from Costco and they are raw in the US, In Canada I KNOW they are not raw because they have different laws than the US does.

You may also wish to talk to the Costco people, we have found them to be very helpful in getting us dates and things when they didn't carry them before.

Glaser farms does high quality raw nuts seeds etc. Plus the owner has been a raw foodist for 20 years........... :)
