How is fasting during the moon time? I am a little worried that the cramps will be brutal without pain releivers... anyone have any experience with this? I have a brutal head ache right now, and that usually means my period is soon to follow... unless it is just the fasting stuff.

Hey, I was going to ask this question too! I wanted to let you know though that I had the most horrible cramps my last moon time ( :p And to let you know I'm not that much raw right now.) But, I did not use any pain meds!! I rubbed peppermint onto the part where it was cramping, and I drank some peppermint tea, THEn I laid down on a heating pad. This was my first time not taking in meds and it was really helpful! My pain totally left! Pain med always made me feel "weird" when I took them. I dont know how to explain it though... Hope your cramps get better!

I havn't experienced it, but painfull cramps decrease a lot while 100% raw. I'm not sure how long you've been raw. Also I believe menstration is detox, so if you're fasting you may be heavier, but it'll help detox you faster...or soemthing like that

I did a short MC a year ago or so, when I was in the middle of an extremely unhealthy period of eating. I didn't transition into the cleanse at all, just jumped in, and prior to that I was experiencing excruciating monthly pain, such that maxing out on the daily allowance for midol and aspirin didn't help at all.

The first day of my MC coincided with the first day of my period, and I was really nervous I would be in pain. I had some mild cramping in the morning, and then NOTHING. NO PAIN! I couldn't believe it. It was the most pleasant and painless period thus far in my life, and it continued that way though the cleanse. I had a few short bouts of very mild cramps and I drank some ginger tea which cleared it right up.

that is my experience!

all i know is that i starting fasting about a week before my period started and when my period came, i didn't get those nasty, day spoiling cramps that i usually get.

Another reason to go 100% raw.

Hey has anyone tried natural pain stuff for cramps.. like I've heard black cohosh was good, but I haven't tried it. I hate ibuprofen!

Well my moon started on the first day of the fast too, and like you I was VERY pleasently surprised by no cramp on the first two days (usually the worst), but I did get head aches. Then today, the third day, I did have some small/medium cramps, but still no where near my usually agony. Thanks for sharing. I was thinking, it might be good to fast 2-3 days every period... But then I was thinking about the 2-3 days of prep. and I don't usually have regular start dates, so it might be hard to swing, but yes.. not bad at all :)

My cramps were a LOT better during the fast. However, I was dramatically weary and tired. I usually get low energy during my moon, but this was almost unbearable. Today is day 5, and it is much better then yesterday. I am going to enjoy breaking this fast ... it has been good in many ways though. My meditations have been fantastic.

I never take medication for this (hey if we can give birth naturally we can go through cramps easily! ;))

anyways, today I had the worse cramps ever! I just used my heating pad and a hot shower... hmmm was so good. Feeling so great right now! :)

Good Luck 2 u!

I don't have any problem fasting while on my period.
