Are green lentils much different than brown lentils?

What I mean is do they taste pretty much the same or are they different?

I ordered brown lentils from our co op and they sent green. Now I have a 25lb. bag. :(

I was going to send them back but then I have to wait another month to get the right ones. That is why I was wondering. I am debating about whether or not to use them.

My family is used to the brown ones though.

Anyone?????????
