what do you think? my daughter is 15 mo and still breastfeeds (main source) but also do raw about 100% raw but she won't eat that much but loves her breastmilk as the main source of nutrition. There is no way I could do MC if I am breastfeeding right? :(

I don't know much about the MC, but what I normally tell people about any kind of cleanse, diet, etc. while pregnant or nursing is just start out slow and see how the baby takes it. If she seems to be doing very well on it, you can keep going and work up to the full amounts, but if she is showing signs of not dealing well with it and may be getting too many toxins, then you can always stop.

I know I'm repeating myself here (if you've read the other recent posts), but you can join our Yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RawPregnancy/ and surely someone else there will be able to give you a better answer! ;)

NO! The MC isn't just a cleanse, it's a fast. Not good for a bfing babe-especially an exclusively bfing (or almost) babe. It mobilizes toxins too quickly and won't provide you with the nutrition you need to make milk. It's just too long without food. Sorry.

No, don't fast. Include more juice/water in your diet in lieu of SOME food, but definitely don't fast. Maybe try having green smoothies for lunch? Those are cleansing but don't deprive you and your baby of needed nutrients like fasting would.

I am in the same boat as you are! My ds is 20 months on the 3rd and he is still breastfeeding. I have wanted to do a MC plenty of times, but can't do it just yet.

They are small just for a short time, so let's enjoy them while they are still all cuddy. :) There will be plenty of times to do a cleanse or fast after they are weaned!

Good for you for doing extended nursing!

I would try to wait. Not only do you not want toxins released into your milk, but I found, personally, that when I signifigantly cut calories my milk supply went way down + I wouldn't let down. MC is great - just have it be something to look forward too! Good luck and have fun with your little love.

I wouldn't fast while nursing because it could dry up your milk I would think.

I fasted 3 days & later 7 days while breastfeeding & it didn't dry up my milk. It is a supply & demand thing. My daughter was getting most of her nutrients from breastfeeding at the time also. That said.. yes it's better not to fast while pregnant or nursing. I can tell she was getting some toxins because she had a few breakouts on her skin at the end of the week so I gave her some Flor-Essence & I stopped fasting. It could have also been because I was pretty much dry fasting at the time.
