In the cooked world, you bake it and then with a fork pull off the strands of squash and eat them as you would spaghetti. See if you can strand it raw. I am so curious to know? Do let us know, cause I think that would be fab!

I'll be interested to know as well, although I think it's the cooking process that turns it to "spaghetti" like strands.

so, if you find a way....please let me know.....i would love to try it.

I have one too. I thought it would come out in strands, but I haven't opened it. Darn it! It's not looking good based on the posts so far. I will go open it and let you guys know what is inside.

Right. I don't think it is fit for human consumption. I took a picture of the inside. I will post it in my journal if anyone wants to see it. Alot of seeds and it smells like a pumpkin. To the trash!

Please post it in this thread if you can. Remember, we're trying to get the journal area cleaned out soon and all food pics are gonna be deleted by the Mods if you all don't delete them. Thanks! :)

as mentioned earlier - I think in the cooked world you remove the seeds, and steam cut side down.....

Anyone know about dehydrating slices???

Thanks Rawkinlocs. I deleted my food photos. I'll have to work on this webpage thing so I can put photos in posts.

Thanks!

I haven't tried it, but what about discarding the seeds, scooping out the inside, and puree it in the food processor? Add italian spices, garlic, scallion, and tomato, and use it as a sauce, dip, or soup? I have had it cooked and enjoy it, I would think it would be good, especially as a soup! Hmmm... gotta go get me a spaghetti squash.

BTW - they are a tad difficult to open, you need a big butcher knife and some hand strength....
