My hubby and I were discussing what we are supposed to eat during the winter months when alot of things are out of season (organic things are at least). He wants to continue canning our veggies and eat that during the winter. What exactly do you eat during those months?

I would assume that you could eat the same things all year around, as
fruits and veggies can and are imported from all over the world.

If you are growing your own foods, you could freeze or dehydrate the fruits and veggies to use later.

We do what Mookie suggested, we eat our own veggies and fruits, but organic when we can, eat regular when we can't get organic, and eat our dehydrated fruits and veggies all winter long too.

We also eat alot of pesto stuffed mushrooms, veggie burger patties, enchiladas etc, during the winter months, there are only a few fruits and veggies that you can't get all year round, in fact we have never not been able to get banans oranges, apples, celery lettuce, greens, tomatoes, onion, garlic, herbs, squash, nuts all year long and many other items too.

Thank you for your inputs. I do forget how many options there are when it comes to raw food. i keep thinking I am limited. We do eat pretty much all organic. We don't like most non-organic fruit, so that will limit us a bit during the winter. We have just started our gardens (organic) so they will not be producing until next year at least. Thanks again gals......
