Hi Joke,
looks cool, I think this is the guy that spammed us a few weeks ago...do you remember, he put a post in each of our forums to sell his book?
Huh? Really? No I don't know about this I must have missed that, I was not that much online a couple of weeks ago... danng, do you really think it's him? if so, I'll just edit everything out of my first post...

no dont edit it - I did not mean it that way - -its all a choice anyway, if Alissa wants to then that is her decision, but as for us we can check it out and make our own decision, I am open to all info I can get
It was that he was rude about it , and she deleted his comments, he could have been nice and I am sure she would have left them but he put his post in almost every one of our threads
But if we are talking about the same guy, then I don't want to 'help him' by giving the link to his website, you know, I don't like rude people or people that post the same thing over and over again, like he did in every thread...

I am really looking forward to this book. According to Bryan Au (the author), the book should be ready in about 2-3 weeks. The food does look amazing.. Bryan worked as a professional photographer for a number of years, and took most or all of the photos himself, near famous San Francisco landmarks. I am working with Bryan, I hope to sell his books on eBay. One of his recipes is available online. I don't feel comfortable posting the recipe here, email me if you would like the recipe. I am going to make it later today. It is a raw version of macaroni and cheese.
Just for the record.. I love Alissa's book and DVD set, too! :D
--Art (new to these boards), raw for one week today!

I apologize on behalf of Bryan. He's very excited about his new book.. he gets a little over-exuberant at times. I will let him know your thoughts.

Hey Art,
I don't know if we are talking about the same person here, if Bryan is indeed the person that posted his message in almost every thread on this board, then I don't feel comfortable with adding his link to his site. If it's not him, then so be it.
What intrigues me is that at the same day I'm posting this, you are here online as a new member and say you work with him... coincidence????

Hey all,
I pre-ordered the book, found out about it and Bryan via his online raw group, and yes, he is the same person who posted a plug for the book in a lot of the different forums here and yes, Alissa deleted them all.
I don't know if she'll mind it being posted by another member and in the proper thread (recipe section) but we can just leave it up and let her make that decision whenever she gets back online. If anything, I'd think it more a "conflict of interest" that would cause her to take it down.
I understand about excitement...but then again, there are rules of netiquette and most (but perhaps not all) know that spamming and blatent advertisment on a discussion board is a no-no.

Hi Rawjojo,
I pre-ordered it via his site using PayPal. From what I've been seeing, I guess it should be another 2-3 weeks before it's ready and then he'll start shipping them out.

No, not really. I don't know if Bryan is the same guy that posted in the other threads.. I was only going by what Glad_2beme said. I shouldn't assume it's the same person.
I am new here. I was checking out the threads. It's good to have support. I also have a raw journal at www.fromsadtoraw.com. I moved here to NJ from Boston less than 3 months ago. I know Alissa, I have met her and talked to her when she hosted potlucks in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Bryan has a group on Yahoo. I wrote to him 3 days ago, saying I was looking forward to the book, and suggesting he might want to sell them on eBay. That's how we hooked up. I've never met him in person. I've only been emailing with him for 3 days.

He also plugged in on my rawkies support group on yahoo groups. He just came in and plugged, and set his preferences to "no mail".
I think it's great that he wrote that book, but that was definately spam and I unsubscribed him. He doesn't live around here, this is a local group, and I don't think he has any plans to visit for a support group meeting. People who've subscribed to my group live in Colorado at least! Or are planning to visit!
Because of his spam, I had to change the preferences to monitoring new members.
Where do you draw the line? I'd love his book, but found it rather frustrating that he had free advertising like that! Heck, when I write a recipe book, I WILL NOT do that!
Yeah Sharon,
I so agree. We started our raw belgium board a few weeks ago, also on the yahoo groups, and we already set the preferences as to the owner agrees or not on each member. I was the owner for a couple of weeks (not anymore) and decided with the moderator that it would be okay to have him post things about his book, although we told him that the board is in flemish, you know. He came on twice, once to tell us about his forthcoming book, and yesterday or so to tell us he put up new pics... that's all... So yeah, we didn't really mind allowing him to the group, (kinda hoping we would get a reduction or free recipes, lol) but the only thing he does is advertise his book...
I can understand his excitement and wanting to let everybody know about his book, but posting on EACH thread here is defenitely a no-no...

I will wait till it is printed, I have an issue buying something that has not been made yet.
Yes I am positive it is him...after I did a little research the name and yahoo group thing reminded me. It isnt the fact he told us about his book at all, it was the manner and tone he did it in. NOT PROFESSIONAL
