View Full Version : Is it better to be raw for a while before doing a fast?

I've been 90% for about 2 weeks (vegan for 6 months prior) but would like to do a fast since I feel bloated. I've never fasted, and I want to do either a vegetable juice fast or the Master Cleanse. I am wondering if I should not attempt a fast until after I do the 30 day raw challenge(which I plan to start 5/1)?

Also, do folks prefer MC or juice fasting for when I do go for it? Thanks!

In my experience I would recomend a juice fast

I did that for about 8 days a month or so ago and had better results : lost weight felt slimmer, felt healther, felt like I'd cleansed myself.

I'm on the end of day 8 of the Master cleanse and I've only lost 1 lbs. , so when people mention how they've lost 10 lbs. by this point I don't understand: I feel clogged up, I feel like I'm retaining everything I consume, I stopped the salt water flush and replaces it with the tea yesterday but tonight I still feel like I'm holding everything: I'm not having normal bm. I go 4 times a day every 15 minutes and it's not pleasant.

You don't have to take my advice but this is just my personal experence, from what I've heard most people have better experience on the Master cleanse , just not me , so that's why when you do go on one; which I would say you should probably do what feels comfortable, you should do a juice cleanse.

I do fruit fasts, but I only EAT the fruit, not drink it, when you don't have the fiber, you won't have BM's personally, I think juice is not something we could find in nature, and that foods have fiber for a reason.

but if it works for you, then I say, "GO FOR IT"
