Hey all, My name is Amy (hameyjane: "Hey Amy Jane!"). I first discovered this woe a few years ago. My husband and I (both vegetarian since 14) got excited, bought every book and piece of equipment we could find and then only put it to use half-heartedly. We have dealt with a lot of change (moved about eight times in the past two years--in a week it will be nine!) and are just now beginning to feel an internal settling or restfulness return. In August we are both going to turn 30 (!) and something is happening to us--I mentioned the feeling of being "settled", but I could also call it grounded. We began taking a yoga class together and focussing on the 'here and now' has become a mighty force. We are realizing that the way were living truly was SAD and only made us fat and broke (what a joke!). I have always believed in this lifestyle but have had a hard time with commitment. In my normal fashion I would just fantasize (not being connected to the present reality) and then just do the same old thing saying, "tomorrow..." I'll never have tomorrow, I only have now. Blessings.
*Oh, and I also have to give a big shout out to Carlene on this site who is beyond amazing and the inspiration for me to try again.
