View Full Version : What part of the day R/were U tempted most?

Yesturday, I was so close to having a 100% raw day. But then later that night my brothers girlfriend brought over some cake and I just totally lost it and i let my addiction take me over :o Oi!!
But, does anybody else have this problem? What part of the day is/was your weaknesS? 'Cause I always make it through the day and then BOOM at night everything is so tempting!! AAAAH!
I'll be so glad when the night time is as easy as the beginning of the day! Lol.

Oh gosh, the evening is my absolute worst time! :( I can feel the addiction then and I almost lose control ( and have a couple of times). It's really rough. I don't like the feeling of the struggle going on within me but when I overcome I feel so empowered. Kind of strange really. Just have some food ready and it makes it a lot easier.

For me it's the evening also!
Definately dinner time when I am cooking for my kids. I always eat before or during cooking for them and throw any leftover food away ! Things that used to tempt me no longer do and even the smell of pasta turns me off !
It's really a hard !
Not one bite !

Evenings here as well. I usually don't crave anything, but as MBF said, it's because the rest of my family is eating something cooked most times, so it gets tempting. Sometimes I'm able to very easily resist...other times it's hard.

I, too struggle at dinner time when I am cooking all of my old favorite foods for my family.
The easiest time for me is the beginning of the day. I don't have any desire for cooked food at breakfast time.

Me too, looks like the evening has it! Or, when I am under extreme stress. I am still a stress overeater. I had a handle on that evening eating at one point, but the handle disappeared into thin air and I can't figure out how to get it back! :rolleyes:

some times when I am in a rush and didn't pack my lunch then I'm starving for some good food And at that point sometimes I get the urge to just cheat alittle bit, But I always am saved by being able to find a grocery store and picking up some banana's or oranges or something to stuff that urge to cheat. :D

Lol. From the looks of everyones replies it seems that most of everyone might be having the same problem!! Lol.
Seasiren & Cinnamon - Love that idea! Maybe we should start a thread called "Night Craving Support Group"?! Lol. I know I'd be a familiar face! ;)

I used to cave and eat cooked whenever home alone. That way it was sneaking things and people wouldn't see me ya know? I havn't done that for almost 3 months i think!

I'm most tempted in the evening after work. Not during the drive home...but when I get home. I guess maybe it's because I prepare everything I need to last me through out the 8 hour day..so by the time I get home I have to be motivated to prepare something which is when, by that time, my cooked cravings have set in and it becomes a little more overpowering each minute I contemplate something fast/cooked over something that's raw and healthy.
But yesterday I had a breakthrough..in the morning I got up early had wheatgrass juice w/ lemon, carrot and apple with a tbsp of Maca. Then I prepared what I needed for the day, which consisted of watermelon, 2 32oz green smoothies (one with kale, apple, swiss chard, and strawberries and the other one had just strawberries and kale. And when I got home..I was tempted to buy cooked but I didn't and just had juice of wheatgrass, celery, and apple w/ a touch of lemon. By the time this was all said and done it was 9pm. AND I FELT GOOD ABOUT IT and went to bed!!
So I'm just finding I need to eat or drink raw more often through out the entire day.
And today instead of two 32 oz green smoothies I'm having one and doing a lovely green salad with kale, green lettuce, dulse, tomatoes, bean sprouts and a sweet olive oil and apple cider vinegar mix for lunch. So right now I'm having a bowl of watermelon and my 32oz green smoothie and water of course.
Today is "DUNKIN DONUT and BAGEL DAY" :eek: here at work, every Friday...so I'm trying to work through the indulgence. And check this out...literally as I sat here writing a co-worker of mine came to me and asked if I would join her the others to a bagel and donut moment....and I declined. People make me sick sometime...then she had the NERVE to say "well you'll have some later." :mad: What the f***! Sorry...just had to vent..LOL

I am most tempted in the late late hours, when I am sitting alone, or when Dragggon is having his cooked dinner (he is about 70/30 raw/cooked) and that can be difficult.
It's mostly when I smell cooked food, and it doesn't even have to be food I would normally have eaten as a vegan, like he had steak tonight, and I haven't eaten meat in 11 years, but it smelled good, normally it stinks.
Someimes I smell certain foods and want other foods, because they remind me of my past, and food was always such a big factor in my life, at grandparents house, at home, out on dates, etc.
so, it is mostly the smell of cooked that does it for me.
