I was playing outside with my little two year old sister (whose picture is posted in the raising raw kids forum btw:) ) when I noticed a package sitting on top of our mail box. I ran to it and sure enough it was Alissa's book and DVD!!!!! I am sooo happy and excited. Thank you so much Sheryl, Carmel, and Alissa!! Everyone I have talked to on this board has really affected the way I feel about myself, my body, and my outlook in general. Thank you so much! I can't wait to watch the DVD and have been reading the book all morning, it is wonderful!

YAY!!! Thats so awesome! I'm so happy for you!
Your little sister is adorable! :)
Is your mom interested in watching the dvd or readin the book? If shes not, I bet if shes anything like my parents and you start watching it while shes around, her eyes will get stuck to the tv! ;)

Dragggon- lol! I read the entire book, cover to cover today :D and I can't wait to watch the DVD
EmeraldGlow- Thanks! my mom said she'll "try to read the book"...I think she would be a lot more interested if the doctor didn't drill it into her head that I have an obsession with food and that me eating healthily is my disorder. I'll definately watch the DVD while she's around...I'll ask her to watch it with me but I don't know that she will.

Yahhhh Lunar*Fey. I am so glad the package came and that you've read it all!!!
Here's the thing... if you can eat healthy and get healthy that is amazing. We're all a little obsessive about eating healthy.. you have to be to resist modern society and the processed devitalized foods available everywhere. It's okay to be different, and it sounds like for you moving in this diirection is bringing about positive results too. Congratulations!!
Cheers,
Sheryl

Thanks so much Sheryl! :) If only the doctors I work with and my family could see the positive changes RAW has brought to me...sure they see weight gain, but they feel my disorder now lies in the types of food I eat. As long as I start getting my period again and am maintaining a healthy weight and am happy, shouldn't that be what matters? Shouldn't that indicate whether I am "better" or not rather than basing my health on stereotypes, numbers, and comparisons? Any way, thank you so much! You have provided me with these most wonderful tools and I am so grateful! I can't thank you enough and I hope they will help my Mom see the benefits of eating raw.

Let them see the book and pick some recipes for you if that would help them feel more in control. There are lots of heavy nut based meals in there just as dense as sitting down to eat a steak. It could be that involving them a little more would make them feel in charge. Raw is a bit extreme for most, but it feel so darned good! If they can understand that you can be healthy on raw maybe they will relax and watch your results more closely. Maybe you'll have some new ideas for them to try with others!! Could be a breakthrough in treatment of eating disorders that could impact so many people. Imagine *you* being the person to bring that alive for people.
Maybe you could even do some writing on this once your weight is where you want it to be to share your experience. There's lots of opportunity here!
YAHHHH Lunar*Fey!!!

Wow thanks Sheryl! You have given some wonderful ideas! I'm now inspired! I think I'll journal every day so that when it comes time to write about what I've done, it'll be easier. Wow, I can't wait! I hope I'll be able to help others :)

:D Misslinda that's awesome, don't you just love being raw? hehe
...people used to think my mom was my big sister lol...she's 37 now but when she was maybe thirty people always looked at her disgusted that she had two children over like 7 years old already as they thought she was about 19 or something.
The strawberry crepes sound delicious!! mmmm....Oh I need a dehydrator!!! I've looked for one in every store I've been to and can't seem to find one. K-mart said they had them but there were none on the shelves and the people who worked there swore they had some but couldn't find them.
Rawpriestess, I do lovvve Alissa's book and I'm still getting to watching her DVD. I was surprised that I read Alissa's entire book the first day I got it, I had the most terrible headache so I just sat outside in the sunshine and couldn't take my eyes off the book! Now I definately can't wait to watch the DVD!
