Ok so I made a recipe a couple days ago Mushroom Alfredo over parsnip fettucine, which is just something I concocted. As I am eating it I can not decide if it tastes good or not. I know that if I was a SAD eater it definately would not be good, in fact just one look at it & I would throw it in the compost pile. Yet as a raw foodist I am stuck in the limbo of undefined goodness. As I take a bite I definetaly dont want to spit it out because it is good for me, I took time to make it, and I paid money for the stuff.
Is it really delicious and I am just making myself not fall in love with it because it is just something I have never had before or is it really disgusting?
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Any funny stories?

Oh I have acquired many new tastes since going raw but sometimes things that are really not that good don't jump out and say that to me anymore... I don't know maybe its hard for me to explain.
I just thought it was funny how before I never would have touched it but now I play a "mind body" trick on myself because it is good for me.
It is just fun to see that before raw taste was everything but now it is just a plus.

Sometimes I have thought like that also. The longer I am raw, the more I am attracted to raw dishes. I find that I am able to let go of the "idea" of how something "should" taste, and just like the way it tastes. I find that I do not compare raw dishes to cooked and think "I wish it tasted more like this". I have learned to apriciate it for what it is. My new goal is to incorporate a new veggie or fruit into my diet each week. (I abhor trying new foods.) I am trying to change that about myself. Normally I get into a meal rut and have the same meal over, and over, and over, till I am sooo sick of it I do not want it for a long time. :)
Good luck!

I have eaten a food, and thought YUCK, then a month later, I've eaten the same food and thought WOW, then YUCK then WOW
Now, I would think this was because the recipe was slightly different, but it was the same frozen raw foods, and it is with several of them, Wow, yuck, wow, yuck, hummmm
so, I have begun to think that my taste buds change and that my body has different desires for me at any given time.
a few months ago, all I wanted was honeydew melon, now all I want is pineapple, yet, today I was at the store, and saw honeydew, and didn't want it at all, came home and ididn't want any pineapple either, so I just had an almond milkshake, with dates.
So, my tastes, change and then they change back, then they change again, then back again, so I just accept that what my body wants, it wants. LOL

This sentiment would include goji berries? I got my first bag this afternoon and must say I am disappointed.

When I first tried goji berries, I wasn't sure if I liked them or not. I'd eat a handful and say to myself, "Oh they're pretty good" and then another handful and I would say, "I don't think I like these".
But after eating them more, I began to actually love them! I enjoy eating them alone or in a trailmix type of snack with raisins and cashews.
