I find since going raw I have fewer hunger pains when hungry -- more like a rumbling w no pain.
Anyone else experience this?

Hi Gavinart,
I haven't clued in yet about hunger pains but what I have noticed is that when I eat a raw meal I am truly satisfied. I do not feel stuffed or uncomfortable and I don't have any digestive issues.

As you continue being raw, you will learn that true hunger is felt in the throat (not your tummy). When I first heard of this, I thought it sounded like science-fiction. Now I recognize that when I am hungry, I feel it in my throat. Also, when I am saciated, it does not mean that my tummy is full and heavy, as it used to be on cooked foods (which really was being constipated). When I am truly saciated, I feel light and full of energy (and not interested in eating :) ).

I believe the expression is 'hunger pangs', which actually is synonimous with pain.
Regardless though, hunger, like thirst, is not so much a discomfort as a call to action with hightened awareness and is somewhat an envigorating experience in the healthy individual. Remember, in nature it would be a disadvantage to have the kind of symptoms most SAD eaters display.
Just as an aside, I think it is a good idea to ignore most stomach sensations as one adopts a healthier diet. Just eat a healthy meal and forget about food, digestion, next meal time, ect. Too much mental energy gets caught up in the food apropriation game. Sure, it's tough to be a raw foodie, but the beauty of it is that after you've reached a great level of health with a TOTAL way of life, food does and should not be the major focus of ones day. Not an easy thing starting out though.
my 2 cents anyway...

I agree.
I eat to live these days -- not live to eat. i find those heavy meals of my past weighed down my thoughts, rendering the next day a spiritual and mental workout to clear the 'sludge'.
I'm finding I'm much more focused and clear.

Your work is fabulous! I love the Freud, Neele and Caillebotte influence!
It's tough painting portraits, and you do it quite well.
