Well, I was never much for sushi, only liked the california rolls...I had this strange aversion  to the nori seaweed. Over the years the nori grew on me. And I think it had something to do with needing minerals, but that is another story.

So, anyway, I had had such sucess getting my DH to try Alissa's moc salmon pate on the onion bread, so I thought to myself, he likes sushi, so I decided to get adventerous. I took the nori and rolled up the pate with minced carrots, and thinly sliced cucumber, avocado, tomatoes and scallions...Tasted great! :p (A bit juicy, but that can't be helped unless i use vege pulp I guess.)

I just want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm on the board, about trying new things. It inspired me to try nori rolls, and I plan to try using nori for other things as well...What do you all roll up in nori?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

It sounds a little odd, but my favorite is julienned carrots, avocado and sauerkraut. There's something about the avo and kraut together!

I also like Alissa's cream cheese, basil leaves, chopped raw greek olives and soaked sundried tomato pieces. Heaven!

I'll stick just about anything in a sheet of nori though!

I put Alissa's spinach dip in them. Messy but very good. :D

Hi all... what's the secret to rolling up nori?? I tried it tonight and it was super messy. I ended up pinching the bottom of the roll and eating it like a burrito. Still, it was super yummy and I want more!!

The mock salmon pate is a big hit at my house and so is the veggie nori rolls and I never thought of putting the pate in the rolls!!!

Great idea!

Sedone Sun, I have some kind of bamboo rolling thing (for lack of a better term). Keep your hands dry and roll tightly. Only at the end, do you put a little moisture on the ends of the roll to stick the last of the roll together.

Have fun and good luck, Tracy
