So Jerry and I went to Juliano's for dinner last night.

When we walked in - the smell of fresh tuberose flowers filled the air - which made me smile!!

The place was dimly lit and there were beeswax candles on every table. Not as many tables as I thought there would be - it's very cozy.

We shared Hummos, Guacomole, "Cheesburger", And Sicilian Pizza.

We decided that the hummos was our favorite, no contest. The other items were too spicy for us and took away from enjoying how many interesting ingredients there were in each meal. The other thing we loved were the crackers. Since I haven't made any yet - this was my first and they were fantastic. Loved them with the hummos. The cheesburger was really good - it had guacomole, onions, basil, parsley, and the crust was terrific.

The pizza had sundried tomatos, zuccini, and other things that we discovered as we went - I can't remember now! It was good but too spicy.

I must say the meals are beautiful to look at and it was fun to bite into something we had never tried before and to try to uncover all that was included in each bite. Worth the trip! Everything was a work of art!

next stop - dessert......we had a coconut a brownie and a shot of "blood"

I enjoyed the coconut- he didn't really.

But the brownie.....

oh my - it was the BEST brownie I have ever had in my entire life.

chocolaty ( caroby ) gooey - with walnuts - oh - it was delicious. I would make the trek across town just for the brownie.

The blood tonic was great too - passionfruit juice with slices of mango in it and ginger. Really good.

Next time I go - I want to try things with no "heat"
like some "pasta" and some soups.

Definately worth it to try it if you are in town.

And Jerry commented that if I made meals like this he would love to eat them. ( And that was in the beginning with the hummos! ) So Jerry might be right along side me soon!

I give this restaurant an A+!!

Can't wait to try the others in town.
Jerry found out that the restuarant Leaf is right down the street from where he works and commented that he is going to go there for lunch!
wow.

The food sounds great. I love spicy so would have liked the pizza. By next year I am planning to go to peoples homes and teach them how to make the raw food (out of State). For now I offer that where I live.

I have been waiting since last night to hear about this! I have Juliano's uncookbook and the food is all so beautifully decorated. And he uses hot peppers in mostly everything so I laughed when you mentioned the spiciness. :p
I am so glad you enjoyed it, and thrilled your boyfriend is so wonderful. Look what your teaching him...lol
Boy I wish I had a raw restaurant near me, that would be fab. I'll have to come down and visit you some day, and we can do the "raw" town!

Thanks for filling us in! Im going to reread your yummy post now...lol
Hugs~

Thanks for sharing that Catherine- I would love to try a raw food restaurant! I like it spicy so that would be great for me! I have Juliano's book- and I have loved his recipe for 'real toast'... it is like a cracker, but a little thicker-I love the taste!

That brownie description is making me drool! I will HAVE to go just for that! :D

LOL@ my precious! :D

You are so lucky to have raw restaurants near you! I live 100 miles from the nearest big city, but we are in the midwest and I'm betting they don't even have one there either! *pout*
