I did it! After a couple of months of trying to get back to raw, I had my first 100% day.

I felt the urge to eat SAD but grabbed the cut veggies that I had prepared for myself. I'm so glad I did that.

Woo Hoo! I'm proud of myself.

And here's to a wonderful tomorrow.

Peace and Love,

Thank you RawMagnolia, rawpriestess and Nenyath.

I've been trying so hard to get a 100% day. And I always start out well with the fruit in the morning but by lunch or dinner I go straight to cooked.

I really think preparation helped me. When I came home from the grocery store, I chopped everything up into snack sizes so I can just grab them on the go. I just filled a small cooler with carrot, pepper and celery sticks as well as red grapes. That really helped me through the day.

Then I big salad at night. It was great.

I'm doing great so far today too. I made fresh juice this morning - pineapple, orange, lemon with kale and parsley. And now I'm having a gigantic salad. I'm going to try some recipes tonight like sweet potato chips, jicama fries and corn chips. That way when I feel like being "bad" I can grab the raw snacks instead.

Thanks again,
Peace and Love

Hi!

I totally understand what you have been through because I have been through it myself. I am fasting right now to help clean out my system and get rid of the cravings and it is working! I just read your journal. I can't believe your in Maine! In Belfast. We are in Belgrade, just outside of Augusta. Do you know where that is?

Hi Fellow Mainer!

Yes, I know where Belgrade is, it's close to my mom who's in Waterville. Do you have any good organic stores by you? We only have the Co-op here in Belfast and there's a health food store in Bangor too.

Good luck with your fast! Let me know how you do.

Peace and Love,

Thanks faith4u.

One meal at a time is a good way to think of it.

Hi

Uncle Dean's in Waterville is about the best health food store around. There is also a smaller store called New Moon Rising and they have some good stuff too. We are in Waterville a lot as our church is there. Is your mom raw?
We lived in N.C. last year and I got spoiled by having a Whole Foods nearby. I wish Maine had a Whole Foods. What is the name of the store in Bangor?
Have a great day!

My mom keeps telling me about Uncle Dean's, I should really go there. And, no, unfortunately she is not raw, I'm working on her though. She's 70 and suffers from heart problems, diabetes, cholesteral, arthritis, etc, etc. This way of eating would do wonders for her. I feel like I need to show her what it's done for me before she'll listen. So I'm on day three 100% and 4 pounds down. Next time I see her, I'll probably be 10 pounds down. There's nothing like a good example.

And, sorry, but I can't remember the name of the store in Bangor. It's behind the home depot off Hogan Road. I'll have to check next time I'm there.

Take care!
