How important is food combining to other people?

The reason I ask is I have some weird idea in my head, probably from reading so many contradictory books and theories, that sweet fruit and fat don't mix for example. So I'll eat a smoothie with oranges and banana and raspberries say, and then like today I'll eat something cooked like a hot cross bun, and now I'm listening to my thoughts and they're all like, "well now you might as well eat whatever cooked you want because you certainly can't throw an avocado and tomato salad on top of all THAT"

It's ridiculous, because obviously, in my humble opinion  I think anything raw is better than a yeasty sugary floury bun... yet I hold onto this warped non-logic. I end up eating cooked rather than put fruit on top of my vegetable and seed-pate salad meal, because I think it's a bad combination! I read somewhere else about fruit sitting ontop and fermenting because the heavier foods take longer to digest. Seems logical. I think ....

Do you follow food combining theory or guidelines? Is this yet another totally individual thing, like I have to find out for myself what works best for me?? ;) I'm being faceitious here, because I'm the first to admit that I'm such an impatient, want-the-right-answer-and-it-had-better-be-the-easy-one-too-right-now! kind of gal lately.

I completely agree and humbly submit to the fact that we are all different and there is no one right answer when it comes to nutrition and health etcetera... yet I hold out for the exception to the rule!!! :D
