I got up this morning and had the rest of the fresh squeezed oj I made several days ago...sipped it slowly, savored the beautiful and vibrant taste of fresh oranges. I got out my juicer and made a qt. of apple juice, (the children I take care of LOVE it!), next I juiced 12 oranges which made over a qt. of oj.....I'm writing because it is an amazing thing to actually see and admire what beautiful, living food is, what a nourshing gift it is, the color, taste, scent of freshness. Yesterday I had a case of organic bananas ready to freeze. I peeled them, broke each into 4-5 pieces, put them in zip loc bags and froze them, made about 5 1/2 gallons of frozen bananas. I slightly thaw a bag of them, about a 1/2 gallon, process it into ice cream and keep it in my kitchen freezer.....I use that in place of frozen bananas in recipes....it is so easy that way to just scoop out what I want.
I am awed by the total abundance of raw food. I've had friends say....geeze what CAN you eat! I say. anything I choose to, this is my choice! I took pics of my kitchen and will post them soon. There is a rich adundance, nature's bounty.

I have kiwi, oranges, apples, pineapples, pears, cantelope, honey dew, watermelon, pineapples, papaya, two kinds of mangos, grapefruit, strawberries, bananas, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, spinach, spring mix, tomatoes, peppers, squash, zucchini, broccoli, onions, garlic, avocado, cucumbers. There are also walnuts, pine nuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, cashews, sun-dried tomatoes, dates, flax seeds, pecans, raisins and so much more. The array of color is beautiful to look at.

There are so many delicious and soul satisfing foods to make from these ingredients. This way of life has NOTHING to do with deprivation! It is all about abundantly choosing to live on this planet in the highest light we can. Both in reverence to ourselves as living temples of life and spirit and to the earth herself, to every creature living along side us on our walk thru life itself.

Ok, I may be ranting and lost (I think found :D ) in the euphoria of a raw and clean life but I am soooo glad to feel this way. We fail to remember how much control we have over how we view every aspect of our lives. You can see raw as restrictive and deprivating or as a wonderful gift both to ourselves and to the earth.

I struggled too and will again I am sure. I have been swayed by different raw philosophies and questioned what I was doing, what I was eating, what should I, what shouldn't I....and felt like I was right back in the same "diet" mentality I spent way too long in before I found raw. I will NOT do that. I WILL listen to my body, my heart, my spirit. I WILL eat the food choices and quantities that I need to feel fed and sane. We all really know deep down what is enough, what is too much. The trick is hearing, choosing to listen and to act on what we hear.

I'm high on raw and I love it!!! Wishing you all eyes to see that what we choose to think and believe can change the entire world, at least our world~
Bright blessings to each and all~

=) this post made me smile. I've had many ask me "what CAN you eat?" as well and I sit there in disbelief. So many choices and colors that we should naturally gravitate towards. Just seems so natural to pick a bright orange or apple off the tree than a piece of white bread or beige meat. Colors intise me lol. The refrigerator in my paretns kitchen consists of this: top shelf is full of left overs of literally all beige/white/off white coloring. Second shelf is full of greens. Veggie drawer full of wonderful colors, as well as the bottom fruit drawer...all for me :D yum. I'm getting hungry thinking about it.

This is so true! ;) I remember cutting up my very first fresh pineapple and eating every last bit of flesh off the core! It was an incredible feeling to taste something...I mean really taste something for the first time. I never knew things like green cabbage could be sweet! It is now! :) I love being raw.
Just yesterday, my Mom said at Easter lunch...It's too much work to eat healthy. I don't have the time. Which my reply was, "How is eating a piece of fruit any work at all? You eat it. Wow...took a lot of time." :D She smiled and said...well, I suppose. Then I followed with I never have to clean a pot or warm something to eat. I find it "easier" to be raw.
I think she thinks I'm nuts...but I if this is nuts....bring it on! :p LOL I know it's best...and I will continue to try and help others know it too! (Especially those that I love!)

I am awed by the total abundance of raw food.

I hear ya, sis!!! I feel that way sometimes too! And you're right, the colors are just GORGEOUS, aren't they. Sometimes I get all googly-feeling peeling open a ripe mango, watching some of the juice splash out, enjoying the orangey sweetness of it, catching the reflection of the sun in the "meat". . . I splurged on some organic grapes two weeks ago and fed them to my son. . . he took a few bites and then looked up at me all awestruck and said, "Mom, these are the BEST grapes I have ever eaten in my WHOLE LIFE!!!!

I just got home from grocery shopping. :) After your post...I needed something juicy and sweet in the house and all I had left were apples and pears. LOL So, now I'm stocked up again! I'm saving a soft ripe avacado for tomorrow afternoon and I wouldn't be surprised if I ate the whole thing! :p It's always wonderful when you can be inspired! Thanks for the post!
