Does anyone else have a mac or a powerbook that can help me re-size some of my photos so that I can post some pictures here?? I have tried so many things, but I can't figure out a way to get my pictures to fit the bandwidth here... :(

Any help would be appreciated!
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Vandy, I have a MAC...email them to me (cmkree@yahoo.com) but does it have to be a mac in order to send you resized image? I'm not sure why that would be as long as you send them to me in .jpg or .gif and I send them back to you that way.

Just use Photoshop on either platform to reduce the image size to, say, 35%, then choose 'save for web' to compress the reduced image using JPEG or GIF compression.

If you're already on Windows then download IrfanView and, using the bicubic resize filter, reduce the image and save as a JPEG. PaintShop Pro is yet another option but if you want to do it quickly and for free, IrfanView is a good option on Windows.

I still can't figure out how to do this... ahhhh...

I don't have photoshtop... just iphoto, and it doesn't allow you to re-size photos.

Vandy,

You can install some freeware UNIX software easily enough with fink ->
http://fink.sourceforge.net/

If you have the newer intel-based macs, you might want to wait until fink releases a stable version for the intel boxes. Otherwise, go for it. Once installed you can use gimp or other packages to resize or edit photos however you want.

Or, you can use the DarwinPorts -->
http://darwinports.opendarwin.org/

Just google for the above two to learn about these packages. Hope this helps. Gil

My comp won't let me install gimp...is this weird or what?
