I was in L.A. last weekend and had the chance to go to Leaf Cuisine, a totally raw cafe. It was SO yummy and very cheap ($6.95 for entrees - so much food - I couldn't eat it all!) and did I mention it was SO YUMMY????
It was started buy a guy who left Juliano's to create a restaurant of his own.

So if you are ever in the Los Angeles area, check it out. Here is their website: www.leafcuisine.com

Thanks for the information, Veggiegirl. I'm in LA a few times a year and will check this place out. He has one of Alissa's recipes on his website! (with a proper credit).

*cries* Why are all the great places in California? Here in Alabama, eating your veggies consists of collards with fatback, or fried okra. :(

When I moved here 5 years ago, hubby and I started gardening and now grow most of our produce ourselves. We also planted apple, pear, and peach trees, grape vines and blackberries (only the blackberries have produced thus far). It helps greatly, but I'd still like a restaurant to go to now and then.

I got excited about 18 months ago when a place called Veggies to Go opened up. Then I found that everything was swimming in oil (yuck) or covered with cheese (double yuck), or made into a casserole with butter, cheese and bread crumbs (triple yuck). So that was a major disappointment.
