Do you really use a half of a cup of chili powder? I know it is a huge batch but this seems like a lot.
Thanks,
Julie

Yes you do we just made this yesterday in a training seminar and the recipe is huge. It is incredible. Make the onion dip to go with it. It is to die for. Unless you are serving a large group cut the recipe in half. To answer your questions yes in the original recipe that is true 1/2 Cup of chili powder.

Yes, but it's personal taste. If you like less use less. It really has a kick to it !

Make sure you're using the milder chili spice as sold in the USA (that adds depth and flavour and only a bit of heat). I had someone make it in Australia and she used a cup of the really hot concentrated powder like cayenne. The recipe was unsavable it was so hot it hurt!! I'm not entirely sure I've ever seen the chili powder as I know it in Canada here.
Cheers,
Sheryl

Thanks all for your confirmation. Can't wait and I am also making the onion dip to top it off.

Julie
