I've had my share of um......bad snacks...today and I have to say, I didn't enjoy ANY of them. All my old fav's too! I came home with the family got everyone to bed, cleaned up a bit and made myself a TRULY enjoyable snack. It's VERY simple. Chocolate sauce with crushed almonds. But I am in heaven. And so I'd like to share:

Chocolate Syrup

1/4 Cup (bit more if you want it sweeter) of Maple Syrup

1 .tsp Vanilla

2 tsp. Coconut Butter

3 TB (or more depending on your taste) Cocoa Powder

Pinch of Salt

Mix all together (I used my vitamix)

Crush however many almonds you'd like, however you see fit. I use my juicer's plunger with nuts in a small dish and lean on the plunger to crush the nuts...you could use a mini chopper or vitamix.

pour everything in a bowl, mix together and enjoy :p

I will have to try this; sounds great. Lately, my favorite snack has been:

a handful of cacao nibs

a handful of nuts (whichever are soaked or available)

about a teaspoon vanilla

agave to coat (I've also mixed agave and yacon syrup with good results)

It's really simple and crunchy.

Another super simple sweet that fixes my white chocolate sweet tooth is about a tablespoon of cacao butter, covered with a bit of honey. It tastes like the best white chocolate ever. I used to like really good white chocolate and this seems to fit. I'm sure if it was put in the dehydrator it would make a great white choc sauce. However, I'm often about the NOW when I need my fix and I don't need to complicate things too much.
