Heres a recipe for chocolate chip cookie dough (http://www.fromsadtoraw.com/Recipes/ChocolateChipCookieDough.htm) and yes, it has olives. I'm dying to know how it is before I buy the olives. Anyone want to try it?

In food processor blend 2 medjool dates; 3 peruvian olives (these are organic sundried olives that can be purchased online at rawfood.com. they are the only olives I eat. they really kind of taste like dark chocolate, have no added salt and are chock full of magnesium. Despite what anyone might say thats anti-olive these are as good as it gets and get me through MANY cooked food cravings...wonderfully helpful during PMS for me!!); 1/4 cup of nuts...I used pinenuts and sliced almonds...but I bet anything would work; a lil vanilla bean; some cinnamon (I bet nutmeg would be nice too).

Stir this all up with a lil warm water....you will achieve a very similar consistency to choc chip cookie dough...and it will even be a lil warm cuz of the water!

PS I have a feeling a little raw carob powder added to this would be a nice addition if you are in a super choco kind of mood. Bon appetit!!

Raene,

I have tried this recipe and find it has a texture very much like cookie dough. That is, it doesn't set, but looks more like modeling clay. I tried it with and without carob, and it was good either way. It does NOT taste like olives; instead, it has a very pleasant, sort of haunting taste.

Bon appetit!

it could be these olives have no brine, so they would not taste salty to you.

olives taste either fruity or meaty after you soak the salt out of them, once the salt is gone, you can taste very subtle flavors in most olives.
