Hello, I am new to the Raw Food Talk. I have been eating raw for the last six weeks and experienced much healing of my body. I do have a few questions.
I have been experimenting with sprouting and dehydrating.
First, how do I know if my sprouts are bad? Do they ever have an oder and are still ok? What tells me if they are bad?
Second, if we sprout, grind and then dehydrate aren't we exposing the food to the perfect temp to encourage bacterial growth? Today I took some cookies out of my dehydrator that were made from sprouted oats. The batter tasted yummy but the cookies tasted sour to me. Someone else I know who has experimented with sprouting and making living bakery has said that it always tastes sour to her. Is this normal? Did something grow as they were in the dehydrator?
Third, if we grind flax seeds or nuts and then dehydrate them won't they go rancid? I was always told to not grind flax seed until right before it is used.
Fourth, if we eat very easily digestable foods it seems to me that it becomes even more difficult to digest cooked foods, are we simply training our bodies to be more particular? I had a friend who did not have health problems who ate raw with me for two weeks and now she is experiencing bowl problems when she eats cooked foods.
Thank so much for all your time!
