I have a number of questions, sorry about this. I've tried researching on the internet...but haven't found much....

I sprouted some garbanzo beans (chick peas) and tried eating them raw on a salad...well I couldn't eat too many of them before getting a bit of a sick feeling.
I've tried to search the internet for recipes to use them in instead, but I can't seem to find anything that I have all the ingredients for. Can anyone please suggest any (rather simple) recipes I can use chick peas in? could be anything but something that might hide the taste a bit...

I also got some wheat berries and buckwheat. I'm soaking the wheat berries right now. Do the wheat berries need to be soaked longer than over night? Can anyone suggest any good recipes to use these in? Maybe some sort of bread type of thing? or anything really...I'd just like some good uses for it :)

Also, I have lots of raw pumpkin seeds....I eat them plain but then I don't like them as much when they are soaked. And you have to soak them, right? Do they need to be sprouted before consumption as well? Every time I try to blend them to make some sort of dip like thing it just comes out horrible, like little wet pumpkin seed slivers...and it smells bad too. Any suggestions? Any recipes I can use these in?

sorry for all the (tiresome, I'm sure) questions! thank you so much.

Raw chickpeas just don't do it for me - they really upset my stomach. Maybe if I continued to eat them I'd adjust, but I'm not willing. I tend to make more dishes like hummous with zucchini instead. Some people say to soak for 24 hours, then sprout from 1-3 days. Some say they are better tasting after only 1 (bitter at 3) and others say the taste improves with more sprouting. Whatever way you do it make sure to rinse often to keep bacteria from growing.

Overnight is usually enough for wheat - most of us let it sprout for a day or two before eating (rinsing regularly). Buckwheat you soak less - just 3-5 hours, then leave to drain. I tend to use it right away - in the heat here it goes off quickly.

There is less of a reason to soak pumpkin seeds than nuts. I know you're looking for dense foods you enjoy to help gain weight. If they work for you unsoaked and you feel good, then just use them that way. There is no 100% right way to do many of these things, you need to find what works for you!

I tried to send you an email, however you don't have one in your profile. You might want to add one! Email me if you can.

Cheers,
Sheryl
