Last night in my Depression Class I signed up for; Dr. Nealey recommends 3 T of flax per day -- Omega 3 etc to feed Frontal Lobes. Of course there's more!

I don't like flex in my 'green smoothie' and I took 1 Tspoonful in my mouth almost got it 'glued' together. It tastes like ground walnuts but 'glue'!

If I can't make flax crackers any suggestions how to use that much per day in other ways? Would appreciate any suggestions.

The Class Facillitators baked flex cookies! I tasted 2 bites. Yuk, even if I was SAD I would not bake them that way. RAWgards Joz

I don't make much from Juliano's book, but I did rather like his apple/flax cookies. It's essentially grated apples, flax and spices, if I remember correctly. Dehydrated for a while, they get nice and chewy... I bring all my unusual raw creations into work with me and my amazingly curious and adventurous coworkers almost always try them - well, these flax/apple cookies were a hit! I'll have to look that recipe up again.... they make a really nice breakfast too.

I put flax meal in my morning fruit smoothie. I do put in some leafy greans, but it really is a fruit based smoothie and you might find it more palatable than in a purely green smoothie. I really don't notice it in mine.

Is it the flavour that you do not like or the texture? I put a lot of crushed ice in my fruit smoothies (well, most of my drinks really) because I like it slushy, so you might consider that if you like cold drinks and do not like the texture of flax.

I just add some ground flax seed to a glass of water. If I stop taking it my joints get stiff.
