I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I try to search before I ask.
If I use the oven on the lowest setting (I think 100 degrees) is this still baking it or is it like a dehydrator? Does it kill the food using the oven this way? (I'm planning on making some sort of bread or something so feel free to share any recipes :) )
thank you :)

Hi Lunar Fey,
good questions, and yes, we've discussed it before, so we can discuss it again
yes, you can use your oven at 115 degrees or lower and will be okay for your food, but if you can add some wind with a small fan, that would be good too, as alot of what actually dehydrated the food is the wind, also, you won't have as many trays or shelves, and the food might fall through when it dries or you may have to come up with some kind of holder, like a cookie sheet or something,
but it is very inventive of you, and I'm sure it will work fine for a while.
let us know how it works
so wadda' you makin'???

thanks rawpriestess...I'm not sure yet...I have some sprouted chick peas and I've got some soft wheat berries soaking (We passed a health food store so I asked my mom to stop...so now I have some wheat berries and buckwheat :) ) I want to try some sort of bread like recipe or something for school lunches...but I haven't found a recipe with ingredients I have yet. Any suggestions?

:)Where would I put the fan?
When we moved into our home the owner took the stove and we never got another one but if I can use one instead of a dehydrater I will gladly get a very small one, like an apartment size one.
It will hold more cookies and bread, my husband can eat a lot of food. :D
Thanks
Ann
