Do you have a spin bike? I'm looking to buy one for my home gym and don't know what to look for. I like the looks of a couple bikes, but not sure which to settle on.

Are all the quality spinning bikes so expensive or could I find a decent one at a resonable price?

Also, looking for spinning dvd suggestions.

I don't have a spinning bike but what I do have is my road bike set up on a wind trainer which gives the same effect and this way I can be out on the raod when it is nice and sunny and inside when it is not. Depends how much you want to spend but a good spinning bike is the same price often as a road bike and wind trainer - obviously depends on the quality of each

I used to teach RPM (like a spinning class) and find that a bike on a wind trainer gives me a great workout too - I then just listen to the music I use for RPM and go up and down the gears doing interval training

The only DVDs I know of are the ones I get as an instructor but they are not available to the public - sorry could not be of more help

We have two KHS Spinning bikes which are the commercial bikes they use at the YMCA. The are very smooth and nice to ride.

Thanks a bunch! I'll look into both... would be good to get a bike I can take outdoors too- so, that wind trainer sounds interesting. ;)

If you decide to go with the road bike and trainer option, which I highly recommend, (I'm a cyclist, and this is what I do as well), there are training DVDs called Spinervals. Just google it. There are tons of them. They are geared toward road cyclists, but they're a great workout, even if you aren't a hard core roadie. And with lots to choose from, you won't get bored. :D

Thanks Kris. If I go the road bike route- I've got some research to do. Luckily, I live smack in the middle of two bike shops! :)

Will also check out Spinervals!

We have Reebok spinning bikes at the health club that I go to and wow I love them. If I ever decide to invest in one that will be it, I don't have a model number or anything but imagine they are like the ones you posted the links for. The ride is so smooth and the workouts just seem to do more for me than any other type of exercise bike I've used.
