We have a room in our home, we call it the Zen Buddha room it is for yoga, we love it, at least once a day, we go into that room and do some postures.
Yoga is a beautiful expression of life.
I simply have to agree. I do 10 minutes of yoga when i first get up, then another 30 mins or so before lunch and 10 mins before bedtime. I don't know of any other type of exercise which makes me feel so strong yet calm and centred, as well as toning the body and keeping it flexible. Count me in!

I also love yoga. i used to teach, but have slacked off on my practice the past few years (also i slacked on the raw diet too). now i am back on raw, i have started yoga again - yay! light foods make me want to bring my body into the light!
jmd - where do you do hot yoga? at prana power yoga? the owners of that are raw - they have a place in newton (i see you are near boston). they just opened one in NYC, i went on sunday. wow, detox! i am not used to hot yoga. it was great though (i almost wrote "it was cool" ha ha).
i'll definately be back for more!
namaste y'all!
Hi all,
I have NOT done HOT yoga YET--i found a place that does it on the border of NH:)!! but it is 15$ per class. I CANNOT WAIT!!!
I myself teach hatha/beginner yoga to some fellow coworkers. It really is nice to see others increase their confidences with it!:)

i had my first hot yoga experience yesterday. i really got a good workout! i have been working out at the gym regularly for about 2 months now and dont get very sore anymore from those workouts. 1.5 hours doing hot yoga and I am sore all over today. I did iyengar yoga for 2 years in college and if I had to compare it to what I did yesterday with the bikram yoga, I'd say I'd prefer iyengar still if I were to take yoga classes regularly.

Which is your favorite line to you all?

I LOVE the Downward Dog position and the full bridge pose. I am YET to Master the headstand..but I am getting there! My hubby is too funny--he makes me stretch in front of people like "watch what my wife can do..." :p
To me Nike says it best regarding YOGA--JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!
It benefits so many internal organs as well as tone the muscles and calm the mind. No matter your age or level--yoga can be for everyone.

I like anusara yoga, bc they focus on alignment. Over the years, I would keep getting injured in certain advanced classes bc the postures went by too fast (vinyasa style) and not enuf attention was paid to proper alignment, you are so busy keeping up with the pace you don't pay as much attention to your form. Like when I see people doing chadaranga to upward dog they go down and then up with their shoulders all hunched over, that's not proper form. I can't do that posture that fast so I usually modify with knees-chest-chin to low cobra, that way I don't hurt myself. In anusara they teach you how to stretch with the support of your muscles so the ligaments don't get over-stretched and injured.
I just bought a ten-class card to this studio in a nearby town and they have this class on Friday nights that sounds really fun, it's called 'Yoga Lounge': The flyer says "A slower, mixed-level vinyasa class set to groovy music in a beautiful, candle-lit studio." Can't wait!
