I have a "Sproutmaster" on loan...no soil required. So, when it's long enough do I still need to cut it or do I juce it roots, seed coating and all? I cut it last night and put the same tray in for re-growth....There's an awful lot of "roots" so I wondered how nutritious they are. Thanks.

Cut the wheatgrass about an inch above the roots, and compost what is left. Second growth wheatgrass is far less nutritious and less tasty than first growth, because the plant is already moving past the "sprout" stage at that point, so I don't bother.
