Just a quick intro:
So today is day 6 of 100% raw and I am doing better than I thought I could. I have not eaten meat in 6 months and had been transitioning toward the raw vegan diet. My original goal was to complete the 30 day challenge by my Birthday (May 20). I was able to enroll in the Certified Raw Chef Course this Saturday in Denton, TX. Decided I would probably be 100% raw after the course but this week seemed like a perfect time to start. I had the flu last week then Saturday started a 3 day OJ juice fast and gradually back into raw solid foods.
I live in Pauls Valley, about an hour south of Oklahoma City. BTW, for anyone in central OK, there is a fantastic organic co-op in Wayne. :D Email me for info.
Glad to be here!

OK, after 3 weeks I'm 20 pound down! Feel so vibrant! Looking forward to taking day 30 pics and posting them.
I can't believe how easy this lifestyle chang has been. I'm sure feeling so good is why it is so addictive (in a good way that is)! :p
This board has also been a wonderful tool. Thanks Alissa!
Blessings to all,
Julie

Did you go to the class in denton? There is another class coming up by one of Alissa's instructors June 2-4 Level 1 and 2 training. Did you take the class from one of her instructors? How was the training?

MyPinkBow,
I did take the Level I Class in Denton with Trish Brooks and will take Level II June 2 -4. We had a great class and I really look forward to Level II! The training was thorough and beneficial to see the preparation and taste the food. Texture is very important! Fun too to get to know some other Raw folks for support.

Welcome! I'm in Midwest City (OKC), so I'm not too far from you! :)
I have been searching for an organic co-op. Thanks for the info. I have passed pauls valley many times on my way to Dallas. It is so beautiful! So glad to see more of us from OK. here. I have had people tell me my ideas on making more available for raw foodies here in Ok were silly, since there wasn't really a market for it. Let's prove them wrong!

Just an update. After my 30 Day challenge I had lost 24 pounds!! The 5th week I didn't lose any weight but I never got discouraged because I felt so good. Well, this is just Wednesday and this week I have already lost another 2 pounds :p
Raw Blessings,
Julie
