is it possible that I have sprouted them too lk=long? it's been like 3 days, 2 of which they've been in the refrigerator.--i am not willing to taste them:p , and the sprouts are barely--though some of them look a little discolored but they have been looking like that since before.
and what am i gonna do with 'em? heeeheee, what is YOUR fave chickpea recipe

Mine take about three days from soak to sprout. So far I haven't found a recipe that I like. I just eat them as is or on a salad. I don't think the fridge is the best place to sprout them though.

Were you rinsing them a couple of times a day? If they have discoloured my guess is something nasty is growing on them. I'd toss them (but I can't see them so my impression could be wrong!).

Would they sprout in the refrigerator?? Do they smell ok? I would personally be afraid to taste them....but I'm a chicken when it comes to tasting questionable food!! Good luck.

I only sprout my chickpeas until the sprout just barely is visible. Then, I make hummus or, my new obcession, falafels (I used the recipe from Juliano's book with a few minor changes). In fact, I'm out of chickpeas and am awaiting my order from www.sproutpeople.com to arrive so I can sprout more!
I don't put my sprouts in the refrig until I want to slow their growth. Warmth is needed for the sprouting process.

I agree with all that's been said. It is so very important to rinse your seeds daily - a couple times and I do not put mine in the fridge. I sprout them on the counter. And the sprout people is THE BEST web site for any and all info on sprouting. They have pages and pages of information.
Hey Frecs - congrads on the terrific weight loss! You go!!

I buy organic garbanzo and sprout them at health food store. They are not strictly for sprouting but they work each time and save mega $.
