I bought the Omega Juicer 8005 from Harvestessentials.com, I was so exicited in receiving it. I put the juicer together according to instructions, and plugged it into the wall.
I heard a sound, but NO turning of the juicer, nothing. As I placed my orange into the chute, A HUGE BLUE SPARK shoots out the back, and the entire juicer cuts off!
What a MAJOR disappointement. And I was so eager to start juicing.

Geeez, have you contacted Omega about it yet? I have used the same model except plastic instead of the chrome for everyday, often more than once a day, for almost a year and have never had that happen. I can't imagine Omega not sending you a replacement.
I also hope you weren't injured!

Sorry you had a scary experience, but I don't think you were in any real danger. One of the things electrical appliance designers have to deal with is how to keep the product safe even when something breaks.
It sounds to me like like a wire or other connection broke loose during shipping. Unfortunately that happens sometimes, even to the best of products, which is why you need to pay attention to warranty and defective/return details when making a purchase. It's also why I say to never throw away the box or any packing materials until you have used the machine for a while and are quite sure everything works correctly.
I assume the company you got it from is dependable and will replace it for you without any hassle. Contact them right away and tell them what happened.
BellaLaDonna wondering if you ever resolved this with Omega and also wondering if you got the apple juice thing worked out?
