I love quotes!
They can inspire us and have such a huge impact in such few words.
Here is mine for the day:
"It is not your passing inspirations or brilliant ideas so much as your everyday habits that control your life"
paramahansa yogananada
I love this one. It is especially good for me because i usually have about 2-3 new ideas a day -as in major life altering ideas such as where to travel, business ventures, and then a bunch of light bulb moments and im always changing what i do daily, which i think is a good thing in a way, but sometimes my "brilliant ideas" and "passing inspirations" take me away from being in the moment and being conscious of the now.
Any other ones you guys like....

From the Eternal Grandmaster.......creator of our style of taekwondo:
"Today not possible; tomorrow possible."
I use this with the kids all the time. They are familiar with it due to their involvement in taekwondo but I want them to see how it applies to all aspects of our lives.

There are more of my favourites although I get a lot of inspiration and 'messages' from songs too. Here are a few of my long time faves....

Life is NOT a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming, "Wow! What a ride!!!!" :D

Can't claim that. Not sure who wrote that. I keep a journal of things that inspire me or make me laugh or make me think......or all the above. I never could keep a daily journal. I just find cool things and jot them down it this book. I reread it when I am feeling blue. It puts my priorities in order.

i think this one is great and from someone we all know :D
"Now, I realize that with my history, I can't afford to mess around. As I say, I'm ONE bad decision away from being the miserable person I used to be. So I just don't allow flexibility in my eating plan. I can't, I can't afford to lose control. I love my life right now! Food used to torture me, food caused constant anxiety in my life. I'm free from all of that now. I never want to go back."

I "stole" this one from another raw foodie. I'm sharing it here (I really hope this person doesn't mind (!) since I think it's so worth sharing:
May your life preach more loudly than your lips.
- William Emmery Channing
(I hope I have spelled the name correctly as I'm going by memory!)
I would have to say that has been the most powerful phrase I have ever heard. Particularly on this journey to awesome health I have had a very difficult time biting my tongue when I see coworkers and friends making very poor choices or going through a rough time because of the lifestyle they choose or the foods they eat. It's so hard to accept this without coming across as if you're preaching, even though you're only coming from a place of love and friendship by sharing the knowledge you're worked your butt off for! Er... pun intended I think.
I need to respect and trust that the path others have chosen for themselves are a direct result of what they created, whether they realize this or not. The very best that I can offer is to live my life with the humble wisdom I have earned, and keep climbing higher every day.
Cheers everyone,

Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. - Helen Keller
I like this, too:
In a Native American story a grandfather tells his grandson that two wolves are battling inside him; one ferocious and destructive, the other gentle and powerful. When the child anxiously asks, "Grandfather, which of them will win?" he replies, "Whichever one I feed."

You are not at the mercy of events over which you have no control. There is little difference if you believe that your present life is caused by incidents in your early infancy or by events in past lives. Your events, your experiences, your lives are caused by your present beliefs. Change the beliefs and your life changes.

The most important thing yo can do is participate in the political process - support the environmental groups that take legal action and lobby, and vote to get rid of the politicians who are whoring for industry. It's more importnat than recycling. It's more important than anything else you can do.

Also: It's the cosmic law: that opposition breeds A fertile ash for transforming seeds. Also: Extinguish the fire in which life burns; Release pain's liar from whom one learns. Pretty good huh?!!! This is one of my favorites. :)
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."

Is there any animal, bird, or fish that cooks its food? Were we issued stoves upon birth? Cooking food certainly was not designed by the creator. It is an art created by the dark side, "And he entices every one by that to which their heart is most inclined." (1) It is so easy for the "dark side" to manipulate people in regards to food, for almost everyone willingly gives in to their lusts, appetities, and desires, and the world supports them in this. Yummy, delicious, gooey cooked food - we pay for it with our lives."

Clocks slay time... time is dead as long as it is being clicked off by little wheels; only when the clock stops does time come to life.
William Faulkner
No man can cause more grief than that one clinging blindly to the vices of his ancestors.
William Faulkner
A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
Albert Einstein

Words from Thich Nhat Hanh
If you are capable of living deeply one moment of your life,
you can learn to live the same way
All the other moments of your life.

I LOVE quotes!!!!
Anger is only one letter short of danger.
From the time immemorial man has looked for a savior; and when not looking for a savior, he is looking for a cure. He believes in paternalism. He is looking to get something for nothing, not knowing that the highest price we ever pay for anything is to have it given to us for free. Instead of accepting salvation, it is better to deserve it. Instead of buying, begging to stealing a cure, it is better to stop building disease. Disease is of mans own buildings, and one worse thing than the stupidity of buying a cure is to remain so ignorant as to believe in cures without looking to the cause. The false theories of salvation and cures has built man into a mental medicant, being a slave to a profession that has neither worked out its own salvation from disease nor discovered a single cure in all the age long period of mans existence on earth.
Dr. Tilden
"Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food. But to eat when you are sick, is to feed your sickness."--Hippocrates, M.D., 460-377 B.C., Father of Western Medicine
Isn't man an amazing animal? He kills wildlife--birds, kangaroos, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice, foxes and dingoes by the million in order to protect his domestic animals and their feed. Then he kills domestic animals by the billion and eats them. This in turn kills man by the million, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative--and fatal--health conditions like heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer. So then man tortures and kills millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases. Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals. Meanwhile, some people are dying of sad laughter at the absurdity of man, who kills so easily and so violently, and once a year, sends out cards praying for "Peace on Earth."
- David Coats from Old MacDonald's Factory Farm
"Will you teach your children what we have taught our children? That the earth is our mother? What befalls the earth befalls all the sons of the earth. This we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself."
- Chief Seattle, in a letter to President Franklin Pierce, 1852.
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"As long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields.
What I think about vivisection is that if people admit that they have the right to take or endanger the life of living beings for the benefit of many, there will be no limit to their cruelty."
~ Leo Tolstoy
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
"To my mind, the life of a lamb is no less precious than that of a human being."
~ Mahatma Gandhi
"Our task must be to free ourselves . . . by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty."
"Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances of survival for life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet."
~ Albert Einstein
"You have just dined, and however scrupulously the slaughterhouse is concealed in the graceful distance of miles, there is complicity."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
"The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men."
~ Leonardo da Vinci
It is only by softening and disguising dead flesh by culinary preparation that it is rendered susceptible of mastication or digestion, and that the sight of its bloody juices and raw horror does not excite intolerable loathing and disgust.
~Percy Bysshe Shelley, Queen Mab Notes
A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite.
~Leo Tolstoy
People often say that humans have always eaten animals, as if this is a justification for continuing the practice. According to this logic, we should not try to prevent people from murdering other people, since this has also been done since the earliest of times.
~Isaac Bashevis Singer
"You can tell by the kindness of a dog how a human should be."
~ Don Van Vliet

"We have all the health we deserve and no more." ;)
"No genuine recovery can be made until the cause of the impairment of health is removed and no perpetuation of the recovery is possible except upon a basis of continued avoidance of the causes of ill health."
"To remain well requires that we live in a way to perpetuate good health. Whatever breaks down health in the first place will do so again, if it is returned to after health has been restored."

I dont think that I approve of this one. It sounds like it was written by someone with no self control making excuses for their actions.

- Nelson Mandela

" We cannot control life's difficult moments but we can choose to make life less difficult. We cannot control the negative atmosphere of the world, but we can control the atmosphere of our minds. Too often we try to choose and control things we cannot. Too seldom we choose to control what we can -- our attitude."

"What most people want is not truth but validation. They want reinforcements for their thinking, right or wrong. They seek out the people and the information that support the conclusions they've already reached, factual or otherwise. The only things they want to have are things that make them feel good, that give them comfort about who or where they are, right now." ~ Phillip McGraw, Ph.D from the book "Life Strategies".

so today I discovered I'm a mathematician :D seriously ;)
I reviewed all my life concerns, problems and ISSUES.......constructed them into one big mathematical equation......

Trying to implant a goal that is incongruent with the self-image is like trying to plant grain by dropping seeds on rock hard bone-dry ground.
This happens when a person tries to make a goal that they are not.
No one can consistently out perform his or her self-image.
No one can long overcome it with willpower.
No one can sneak past it and perform in an incongruent manner.
The bottom line is that you cannot 'do' things without 'being'
the kind of person who does those things.
You must 'be' to 'do.'
