Pinto beans

Does anyone know if sprouted Pinto beans are toxic?

Why would they be?

I've heard that tomato and potato sprouts are poisonous. There is plenty of info on the internet about sprouting pinto beans, so they must not be toxic. :)

I recently tried sprouted black beans and got violently ill. I would stay away from the pintos....

You may hear that beans contain hemaglutins (which can clump red blood cells) and trypsin inhibits (which retard growth) but this is not a concern when the beans are soaked and cooked until tender. The only beans I know for sure are toxic when sprouted are kidney beans and fava beans. To my knowledge, all the rest are safe, although they may taste like crap! roflol!
