Wondering who among you has read this book, or "A Course in Miracles?" Very, very awesome and paradigm blasting book. IT's written by Gary Renard....I'd love to see more metaphysical discussions on this board, but maybe not many people are into "consciousness expanding..." Too bad because it's the next step with a raw lifestyle....OM AH HUM.

We have read alot of books on metaphysics, your right about alot of people aren't into this kind of topic on this board, they think you are off your rocker if you post something different then what they normally think, even though they eat raw food and that isn't normal thinking yet. theresann, sorry, i assumed you'd know what i mean.....
Yes about Gary, when I went to his site, i read exerpts from his book. By reading the dialogue, it looks like he is quoting the messengers verbatim----does he dsicuss how he was able to recall the dialogue in detail?
I have an appreciation for anybody's personal spiritual (if you want to call that) experience, noone has to belive it b/c all that matters is that you yourself is convicted . However, I'd have to read more of his work to fully get to know him...............
Just as a premature-first impression, there are details I would question but I find his personal experiences to be interesting and fascinating so far.....it is not that I find it off the wall, but as another person with my own spiritual experiences and visitation by divine forces/beings, there are some details [I] would find a discrepancy not to say he is wrong but I personally would question for the sake of understanding--- I can respect his personal convictions as well.
I do plan on getting the book so I will update my thoughts when that time comes. :)
Anyone else have thoughts, opinions etc--did anyone visit his site at all?

Cool!! So great to hear that from you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, Misslinn~I just really really resonated with his story and some parts of the dialogue are laugh-out-loud funny. It just made so much sense to me. And believe me, I am a metaphysical student junkie. I've praticed Tibetan Buddism, TM, Self realization fellowship, catholicism, have studied Rudolph Steiner in depth, A Course in Miracles...wow, just a lot over the years. I guess Gary's message just makes so much sense to me.
ALso, I am a spiritual Channel (I am writing for Sedona Journal of Emergence monthly now) and the source that I channel seems to have the same message. He tape recorded their conversations to remember everything, although he also claims to have a very good memory.
He's coming to Cinncinatti in June, which is like 3 1/2 hours from me. Can't wait to meet him!
Blessings, All!!

I'm so glad you brought this up. I asked for The Disappearance of the Universe for Christmas, devoured it in January and immediately turned around and read it a second time. It's my favorite metaphysical book of all time, and I've been reading lots of them since the early 90's.
I tried studying A Course in Miracles a few years ago, but just couldn't "get it." I'd wind up feeling angry and confused. But The Disappearance is like Cliffs Notes for The Course (I always needed Cliffs Notes to understand Shakespeare, too). I'm studying The Course again and I feel I understand it now.
How did you enjoy the book, TheresaAnn? I still have a couple of unresolved questions, even after reading Gary's web site. Like, if everything is already written in stone, how can our forgiveness work alter the course of history and shorten our time to Enlightenment?

the course has hugely influenced my life though i have tended to read people like marianne williamson jerry jampolsky and at the moment paul ferrini on the subject..i agree that the connection between god and live food is often missed..for me thats the biggest point that raw livng food is full of lifeforce.prana .god and when i eat that then i too have more lifeforce and it opens me up much more to my connection with god....also i have found i feel more connected to nature too...got off track abit there or maybe not eh.

. . . alot of people aren't into this kind of topic on this board, they think you are off your rocker if you post something different then what they normally think, even though they eat raw food and that isn't normal thinking yet. Actually, I haven't found this to be true. In all the time I've been on here, I've read quite a few people into "alternative" philosophies.
In fact, in "real" life, most raw people I know say that the living food lifestyle has helped bring them more in line with spirituality.
Thanks for the mention of the book, theresaann.
There is also a companion book to 'A course in Miracles'.

I would suspect that there are a lot of people here who believe in spiritual things but because this is a raw food board may not want to go into it. Unless it is posted on the "off topic non food related area" even then some people would be hesitant. Everybody would have to have an open mind about it so not to be offended by people's different beliefs. :D

Lauraw!!!
so GREAT to hear from you!!
I felt exactly the same way reading his book-100%. And the same thing about A Course in Miracles-Disappearance IS like "cliff's notes" for the Course. My spiritual awareness took a huge leap forward when I read this book.
I'm going to see Gary in June-I am so looking forward to meeting him. I just feel like he is such a "brother"-like our bro "J"!!
Yes, isn't that a funny paradox, about everything being written in stone, yet we can alter the course of time through forgiveness. There are some things that are truly "brain twisters", which makes sense, since the brain is an illusion, and it can't comprehend truth at a level beyond it's creation, is my guess. I wonder about that one-oh, I just heard something-what I heard is
"remember that the forgiveness has already happened, and you are rejoined in Heaven with GOD," which means to me that we were immediately rejoined with GOD at the exact moment of the separation, but because we forgot that, and THINK we are actually IN this illusory universe, we experience a linear progression of dualistically perceieved experience. But in reality it's all already happened and over with, so there IS a finite conclusion eventually, therefore it's already happened. BUT if one chooses to AWAKEN while still IN the dream, it will certainly speed up their INDIVIDUAL CONSCIOUS awakening, and add to the awakening of everyone-although, as the course says, we all eventually WILL awaken, whether we choose to consciously participate with that process at all.
Oh, man, don't get me started!!!
Love to all~

That's all so awesome. I hear Gary is a really down-to-earth guy. Let us know your impressions after you meet him.
I'm fortunate to have metaphysical library in my town. I recently checked out "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot. It's a physics book (written for lay people), written in the early 90s, and it's all about the theory that our "reality" is really a hologram, projected by the mind. Sound familiar?!?! The cool thing is Talbot gives all these real-life examples about how people have outrageously defied the "laws of nature" (people like Sai Baba and less famous people) and how this holographic theory can explain it.
It seems like science and mysticism are indeed converging. Did you see the movie, "What the Bleep Do We Know?"
It's interesting for me right now because my partner David and I are focusing to manifest more money in our lives. Sometimes, when studying the Course, I wonder why we're focusing on money, since it doesn't really matter in the end. But, I guess I'd like to make the dream pleasant while I'm still living in it. ;-)
I love this thread. I have the Course in Miracles (though have only dipped into it, and read passages quoted in other works), but not the Disappearance of the Universe, which I'm going to get. I particularly like Wayne Dyer's approach, in his books, and particularly his tapes and CDs -- Manifesting Your Destiny, and The Power of Intention (think that's what it's called) are so inspiring to listen to.

if someone chooses to feel offended by anthing I say, that is their choice,
I personally get pretty tired of all of the bible quotes I see,
however, everyone has a right to their choices, doesn't mean I am right, or wrong, just means we are different,
and if I remember right,
God/dess likes diversity, so we are ALL a bit wacked--er, uh--I mean different.
VIVA LA DIFFERENCE!!!

My dad has this book and I have looked at it enough to be impressed with it. I love studying metaphysics and expanding consciousness.
