View Full Version : Chocolate Butter Yum!
So last night I was craving...chocolate! I didn't have any raw cacao powder (though I will be purchasing some asap)but I did have some unsweetened cocoa powder, sooooo...here's my blissful chocolate butter recipe:
1 tsp cocoa powder (obviously raw is better)
coconut butter 1-2 tbsp
agave nectar to taste (very little is needed)
Mix it all together, until it's a soft butter like consistency, adding the ingredients to your personal tastes. I spread it on a perfectly ripe banana and ....BLISS! It was so good.
Let me know if you try it what you think. Warning: the cocoa powder has a bunch of caffeine in it, so you'll get a buzz...
Enjoy....

So yesterday I did something similar, making a raw coconut "frosting," inspired by a posting on the We Like it Raw website. I took a spoonful of artisana coconut butter, added a splash of vanilla extract, some agave and a small sprinkle of seal salt crystals...
Oh.My.God. I had it on some manna bread (my transition crutch) and thought I died and went to heaven. It REALLY hits the spot if you're craving something sweet and indulgent.
I'm definitely going to try a chocolate version now, thanks for this idea!

Carmel,
Well, it's close. You can find it in the caramel coconut cookie (or is it coconut caramel cookie?) thread. It's pretty much that simple although the exact ingredients are there ~ I think. Lemme see if I can find it quickly.
O.k., here it is:
In a food processor put:
1 C. raw almond butter at room temp
1/2 C. agave
1/2 C. raw carob
seeds from 1/4 vanilla bean
1 1/2 tsp. Nama Shoyu
Blend!!!! Quick and easy!
Store covered in the fridge.
