Hi,

I'm really starting to juice a lot because it helps ease my digestive issues. I have a lot of kale at home right now but everytime I try to juice it in a juice, it ends up so horrible tasting that it makes me gag.

Does anyone have any no fail juice recipes that will allow me to use up many of the greens of have? It would be great if you could state quantities needed of each veggie or fruit.

They recomend that some lemmon is used to "cut" the taste of the greens in a smoothie so maybe it would work in juice as well.

But any specific recipes with quantities that you could offer??

Right now, I have the following green veggies that I'm trying to use up:

-kale
-collard
-parsley
-cilantro
-broccoli
-frisee
-leaf lettuce
-romaine lettuce
-celery
-cucumbers

I do not use recipes but just use whatever I have. Right now I am using celery, cucumber and carrot.

I've added minimum greens (kale/ lettuce) to my smoothies, and some to my carrot/apple/celery juice with success. Don't use much, tho.

However, last night at our potluck, one person brought the book "Green for Life" the latest by Victoria Boutenko. VERY interesting book talking about greens and RECIPES for adding them to juices and smoothies.

That may be a good resource for you.

I've actually seen/read the book but it mainly has recipes for green smoothies not green juices.

Kale in green juice is AMAZING! I usually don't juice unless i have kale on hand.

My standard green juice:
-I bunch of dinosauer kale (that's usually oh.. 10-15 leaves i'm guessing, some small some large)
-1/2 large cucumber (with the skin on)
-one bunch of celery (this is not necessary. I just love it. helps the taste too. use 6 ribs if you don't want to do the whole thing)
-1/2 sweet apple

You can add any other greens to that... If it's too strong add more apple and cucumber. Mmmmm mmmm i love green juice :)

I make juice each morning and use green stuff like kale and cabbage, but I always balance it out with a large carrot, to which I add 2 apples and 2 small or one large lemon, I find if you dont use to much green its actually really nice, oh and I bung in three sticks of celery for good measure.
