Hello everyone,
Went to the movies tonight with some friends and afterwards we popped into Pizza Express. I figured that I could at least order a salad off the menu, but not even close! Everything had meat and cooked veggies on it. So asked the waitress for a special salad and she was really good about it. No problems really. The only weird part was telling her that I don't eat cooked food! Weird for me that is as I haven't even been a vegetarian before! It was kind of fun not knowing exactly what I was going to get as well!

That's a funny experience! Did that waitress say anything when you told her that you only ate raw?
One time I ordered a salad when I was eating w/ my family and I asked for no dressing and no meat and the waitress asked "How can you eat that without anything else on it"
lol...

The waitress was actually quite good about it. I did have to let her know that cheese didn't work for me either. My friends were laughing it up a bit, of course, but in a good way. I am quite lucky to have really supportive friends and family (both my mom and sister have jumping into raw as well, after only talking to them on the phone about it once or twice!)

I went to Cheesecake factory and got a salad there where I had to do the same. Well I want this with no meat, no crunchy noodles, no dressing. The person who brought out the food keept asking if that is what I really wanted and the waiter said that the kitchen asked him to make sure the order was right *lol* It was very good!

HOW fun, isn't eating raw cooooool?
and it can be challenging and fun all rolled into one.
I love to eat salads out, here is what I do:
I usually order a big fancy garden salad or chef's salad, and just ask for EVERYTHING on the side
I get a huge plate of lettuces, and lots of little cups filled with goodies, some I put on my salad, and some my friends at the table eat, it's a fun experience for everyone, but mostly ME. YUMMMMYYYYY

A couple days ago my dh and I went out for dinner...He wanted to go to a restaurant that he heard had good pulled pork sandwiches (so gross!! I haven't eaten pork for about 30 years...won't even kiss him after he eats something like that) well, I told him I would order a garden salad and asked the waitress if she could just make it a bigger portion and throw on some mushrooms and she was happy to accommodate me. My dh on the other hand told me that I was making eating out a bit difficult. I asked who it was being difficult for and he chuckled and said for him. Anyway, he said he knew the salad wasn't what i wanted and was sure I wouldn't be happy with dinner because in the past we would always tend to order things that we usually wouldnt make at home and a salad is something that I eat every day. Well, my salad was actually very good and as it turned out his sandwich wasn't as good as he hoped and he actually asked for a couple bites of my salad and agreed with me!! lol ;)
