I just got mine today as well and am happily reading away. I didn't realise that it was so huge! Can probably use it as a weight training tool as well (real value for money)

I can remember the day I received mine,
I could "feel" that my life had changed, I watched the DVD, and read the book all night, I never went to bed, I HAD to read the testimonials.
then I went to the store, and bought raw food, as much as I could find, and came home and made so many dishes, I was so happy.

I love Alissia's book as much as the day it arrived.
I have only had it for a couple of weeks but the change it has made will last forever.
Thanks so much Alissia.

It's amazing how simple Alissa makes it. She explains everything so well yet doesn't hit you over the head with an overwhelming amount of facts. The chapter on purging your kitchen and pantry -- and restocking according to her list is the greatest. But, then, the chapter on 4 weeks of recipes complete with shopping list is incredibly useful. Aha!! Then, there's the testimonials -- so inspiring. And ... finally (or did you just go straight there??!?!) the recipes!!!
Funny - it's so obvious from the questions asked here which people have read the book and which haven't, isn't it?

I love the book also. I borrowed a friends. The only thing about the four week recipe's is that they make sooooooooooooooo much food and if you are the only person in your house eating raw then what do you do with all the food? Can you half the recipe's? Do they turn out as well? How long does everything last in the fridge?

I haven't got the DVD, but my sister did and she is going to lend it to me. I really enjoyed reading the book though. This came just in time, because I find that, as I finish my first month raw, I am starting to want to include some variety into my diet. I may need to get a dehydrator and food processor. I didn't want to jump in that far until I knew that I would keep it up, but now I am thinking that they will help me want to keep it up!

Hi, I'm 90 days raw and feeling better every day! Alissa's book makes all the difference. There's no pressure, just simple fact and all those delicious recipes. I've been marking the margins of the ones I love the most and the ones I can live without. (One thing: I was hooked on tortilla chips and the ones in the book I can't stand. They are too sweet, but now I don't have cravings very often for chips because I get the nutrition I need from all the veggies and greens!) When you're filled with nutrititious things you don't get cravings--as simple as that. I find that cooked or processed foods have less and less appeal as I wander deeper into this raw journey.
As far as recipes in A's book: You can split them in half or sometimes freeze them for later consumption. I find that it's really easy to experiment with raw food once you get the basics down. IT'S AN AMAZING JOURNEY, just like the Lewis and Clarke expidition! :) j I've also found some guinea pigs for my culinary adventures--my SAD eating friends! They all for a taste of something, but they might not like it...

Well, I just finished the book... and what a wonderful book it is!! Definately something worth it's money..
I did love how simply she explained things. Without all the technical reasonings behind it. I tried reading the consious eating but could not get too far with it... anyway.. her meal plans are great.. Right now I will have to keep things very simple as I do not have the big cash to go out and buy alot of nuts... sooo.. I will stick with what I can and do my best with simplicity.
She sure explains weel the reason why to go 100% as opposed to only partial percentages... This was something I had wondered about alot...
The testimonials are great also.. Alissa was so caring to go to some of those people personally to help them out..
Thank you Alissa for writting this book. It IS JUST WHAT I NEEDED! May God bless you in so many ways for helping so many people.

Ithey make sooooooooooooooo much food and if you are the only person in your house eating raw then what do you do with all the food? Can you half the recipe's? Do they turn out as well? How long does everything last in the fridge? The best thing is to share the extras with your SAD-eating family and friends. No pressure, no preaching, just take them some. Mine especially loved (and still do love) the fettucine alfredo.
She designed that much for a reason. She wants you to eat as much of it as possible. It works best (when you're beginning - especially the first month) to eat and eat and eat and eat. Remember where Alissa talks about her friend Christine kept saying that she was giving her too much food -- but she dropped her weight and got healthy that way!!
Yes, you can halve the recipes. I'm not one for freezing, though I know some others are. Alissa taught us teachers, though, that oftentimes the flavors are different when you halve the recipes because the seasonings just dont' halve well -- she explained it waaaay better, so you'll just have to trust me (and her!) on this!! I'm thinking that she said to omit them and then add them in at the end a little at a time until it tastes right to you. This is true of all foods, not just raw.
I'm so glad everyone is having fun with their books and playing with their food!!! Yayaya!

I've been marking the margins of the ones I love the most and the ones I can live without.
This is one of my favorite things about Alissa's book! She left space to write your own notes and really make the book YOURS. I hope she can get her book out there in some of the bigger book stores soon...there are so many people who would benefit from it who don't know it exists! :)
