Hello, I am rather new to all of this. I have been on the Hallelujah Acres Diet for the past 3 1/2 months. While there are some members of my family that try to eat more raw foods, no one is doing a complete raw diet. I am trying to. For the most part I eat salads and that is it. I am a person who needs variety in my life. I am looking for people who can help me with this process. I want to learn to eat right along with being satisfied. While right now are not the same. PLEASE HELP! lol

Hi Susan and welcome to the raw world..lol This is my second time going raw, and the first time I went all raw, at the beginning it was just like your doing--which made it difficult and, well not fun!! It was incredibly hard jumping into the spartan approach. What did make it fun was information and experiences--i read site after site--try www.alissacohen.com www.fromsadtoraw.com , rawfood.com, shazzie.com-etc there's so many for inspiring stories. Check your local library for books on raw food. I read everything I could get my hands on--when I saw Alissa's book I discovered the fun in raw food--and in the chellenging process of transitioning to a new lifestyle. All that information and experimenting with recipes and approaches, all the inspiring stories I read built an incredible passion in me. A couple of weeks ago I read a quote by a spiritual Master, "without passion, there can be no discipline." Ahhhh, bingo. There are so many things to do with raw foods that we could never have imagined before discovering this lifestyle. Explore-jump in with both feet- go nuts-- lol
Psssttt......Alissa's date nut torte and carrot salad are so scrumptious and so easy I could just sing. Let us know what you discover.
Brightest blessings to you!

I'm also in Ohio...in Cleveland.
Advice I was given during this cold weather by my holistic doctor was to eat plenty of nuts to stay warm! Hope this helps a bit.

Hi Susan!
Welcome! Hallelujah Acres is where I first heard about this too. This is a great website for support and there are so many online resources that will help you stay pumped up. I have to get online sometimes several times a day and either post here or look at other people's before and after pics to keep myself motivated through the transition. Recipes really help, Max is right.... salads don't cut it at first. You are doing great! :D
