View Full Version : Catch 22

I am going through detox.
This is the fifth day of feeling really average...sore throat, headache, fever, weakness etc.
I wanted to eat last night, but I was too weak to drive to the supermarket to get vegetables for a salad.
So I'd like to eat, but I'm too weak to prepare anything.
Yesterday I ate 2 bananas, some purple grapes, a pineapple apple juice, a wheatgrass shot, some raw macadamias, some raw cashews (well, it said so on the bag), some raw honey and some blueberries...
I can't wait to get to the other side of this detox. I am hoping my energy will skyrocket.

I'm sorry, are you wondering if this will pass or just venting?
:) your situation doesn't sound anything unusual other than tough it out and ge gentle and good to your body cuz your doing great already!

Just musing on the Catch 22 situation really. I think if I had more energy I would have made that salad, and if I'd made that salad, I would have had more energy...
Detox, it's an interesting process...
Today has such a vibe, there is such magic in the air, sunshine, humour...I think I'm coming out the side...and everything's more sparkly than before...
It's not just a physical cleanse...it's a spiritual process as well... As though the frequency has been turned up, or something... At least, that's what I think...

YES! I agree too. I see what you mean now...........
I wish I could put it into words but I think you already know just by what you said......
It's almost like you "sense" an underlying emotional/mental/spritual pattern and associaton to these symptoms..........can be quite enjoyable even the suffering and agony :)
I have reached the point that my body can sense the appearance of a sun break even when in a closed dark room. I feel aligned with my surroundings ;)

Are you eating/drinking enough greens?

Not really. But I've only been back on raw for a couple of weeks. Some days I do...but some days I only have a wheatgrass shot or something... I'm sure things will improve over time. I will try green smoothies. I think my detox has now peaked and things are on the way up... (For this round...) I am very aware of the importance of greens though. Sapoty Brook in Eco Eating suggests you eat at least one-and-a-half heads of broccoli a day and several celery sticks (if I remember correctly)...

I know how you feel. I'm going through detox as well, and when we've run out of food, I'm too tired to go get it! (I can't drive yet, either, so riding my bike seems like suicide when I'm feeling that way.) I wish we could start going to the store before everything is depleted. I usually get the excuse, "You still have carrots left!" Ironic, becuase I'm usually nagged for not eating a variety.
It's interesting that you should bring that up, because I dwelled on it for a long time yesterday while I waited for Mom to return with my vittles. I guess we'll have to be more prepared!
