Hi Soprofound,
I wouldn't! Most vitamins are recommended to be taken with food.

Vitamins no, but I would say superfoods (whole food like superbluegreen algae) or probiotics or enzymes can be helpful.

should you? I would answer no....
FOr one, I agree with Foreveryoung, supplements were created so that you can accomodate for lack of healthy eating---taken with food. And even then our stomachs are so cluttered with junk that supplementaion would go to waste anyway IF you decided on your own to do so.
Then there is the concern of fillers and what the coating is made of. Water soluable, fat soluable etc etc. Juice in itself is concentrated and then taking suuplements that have none of the water content, is even MORE concnetrated that can be hindering to the body. If you are juice fasting, you need not worry about supplementation. All enzymes are divereted to detox, cleansing, repairing and healing.
Only my perosnal opinion but steering away from everything that is created like supplements is the best way to go when fasting. i truly believe the body doesn't need anymore work--keeping it simple is the most effective.
Curious, what did you think vitamins would help [with] if taken during fasting?
Cheers,
:)

I agree. Almost anything you put in your body while fasting will slow down the process. When a person is fasting, one of the most powerful forces in nature is released (IMHO) and it needs little help if any. I DO believe however, in fresh air, sunshine, skin brushing and all kinds of different herbal baths to help the process.

I agree that any fragmented supplementation is not beneficial at any time and no reason for it while fasting. But the wholefood superfoods mentioned (algaes, enzymes and probiotics) can help with the detox, for instance, enzymes can break down more material, algae can neutralize toxins and probiotics can restore friendly bacteria which will then do their jobs in cleaning things up. Can make it easier and more effective to fast. I have done extensive fasts, everywhere from a couple of days to 40 days and more, over the years, beginning in the 70's. I have done some with just water, some with juices or the master cleanser, and some adding small amounts of the whole food supplements and feel they each have their place. All good. I would not, however, add anything that is isolate, fragmented or synthetic, such as a vitamin or mineral supplement, but I would not use them anyway.
