Haha, well, I like the taste, nikilee1 :) But I put it in my green smoothies. It is very strong.
You can also put it in some sweet recipes, if you do them, like energy-type bars, cookies, icecreams, shakes, fruit smoothies, nutmilks.

So do you find it is helping with those reasons you listed for taking it? And how much are you consuming?

Best,

niki , i tried it several times in capsule form for i dont remember why but i found it to have zero positive affects and like you found it to taste hideous . anything that taste that bad to me i wont use , thats what taste buds are for , to warn you if somethings illhealthful . it might be good raw/fresh i dont know , but in capsule form i took it was terrible . plus there are so many overblown claims made on herbs ive conditioned myself to be very synical about them , claims and fact are 2 very different things .

i made green smoothie w maca this morning, i couldn't taste it, i put agave in too.

sometimes i drink it w water - i think that taste helps with the healing properties - but if you really cant stand it , then do juice.

I have notice a subtle big difference from taking it. I am not as tired and I can lift things that I did not use to be able to. I feel it gives me strength. I have also noticed that when I take it I do not really have blood sugar issues. My endurance is much better.
At first I did not notice any change, then about a month later I noticed that I could lift things with just my arm, and not my back or whatever.
It rocks!

Actually I have not been taking it every day like I used to and I can tell, I feel weaker, and tired and my endurance is low. Gotta take that stuff again.

for the first couple of years using macca i put about a teapspoon in my smoothies and yes i could taste it but it was more malty ...only recently i have been putting in like a few tablespoons in and it tastes more hot peppery almost...so i would experiment with how much you put in..maybe start with less..i personaly like it with ban and berry type smoothies..
love marigold

The maca I purchased smells like 1) burning rubber or 2) teen jock stinky sneakers depending on who you ask, my wonderful spouse or me.

I use 1 tsp daily in smoothie, tasteless, thank heavens.

I noticed lots of energy, desire to do stuff (almost impossible to just sit around, gotta move and use my body doing "jobs and work" stuff), and that is about it for me.

Maybe other benefits will appear if I continue using it for a month or so.

We'll see!

The more I read about MACA the more interested I am in it. Does anyone know whether or not this has a beneficial effect on women who have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)?

Here is something that I found on the internet. This might help answer your questions. I really cannot see how it could not help, since it helps balance hormones.

Do you have insulin resistance?

ooh thanks the replys, the only diff i noticed so far is the energy. i mixed it into a pineapple strawberry smoothie. cant really hide the taste, so i'm playing with ignoring it and celebrating it, it is a good thing to eat right?.
hope i benifit from maca more soon. i sufferd from depression before and gladly overcame it, but a more mild case is creeping up on me, i thing. it would explain a lot of the crap i'm going thru
thanks again

I love the taste but it is an aquired taste. I find that it is not as strong in something sweet like with cacao and coconut water... or greens with an apple... I love it... just makes me feel great all over.. I got mine from my co-op here in Dallas... who gets it from NFL. :D
