The whole foods stores in my area are out of organic bananas due to tropical weather problems. I looked up on the internet and the weather is crazy in different banana growing places. bummer....how can a raw foodist live without bananas?????

We had a cyclone here in Australia and prices have doubled... ripe ones are still often cheap though since they are seen as undesirable.

Keep looking! Ask for ripe ones... or embrace this as an opportunity to explore new tastes!

Cheers,
Sheryl

Right, Sheryl~ yeah, I was wondering about the effect from the cyclone in Austrailia. wow. The weather is so weird-I've been reading a lot about how the "world gov" is modifying the weather with those chem trails they spray around the world now....hope no more crops are damaged, not to mention people... :(

If this helps, bananas are the low man on the totem pole in the pesticide game. I buy organic bananas but also buy non-organic when I need to.

Hopefully this helps for you.

The banana supply here has so far not been compromised. I wish you luck! Hopefully it will not last too long. I'm not sure about buying non-organic banans, I thought that they had some type of gmo (like fish genes?) in them. I could be wrong though, but I buy organic.

It is the same here but I did not realise why until I red this. I have not been able to get organic bananas for the past week. I am about to dip into my emergency frozen supply.

Oh dear. Where is everyone located? I'm in Colorado and haven't had this problem.

Well I am in Ireland and we seem to have had this problem for 2 weeks but I was blaming the stores. I did not know that it was universal.

First they take our bananas, what's next!?!?!
I haven't checked on bananas in a few days.. I must go this weekend to make sure that we have bananas here. I ran out of them earlier this week.

We go bananas for bananas. :D

they are back in the store, organic and at the same price. I didn't ask what was up-just glad they're back.

We lost our organic bananas, too, and they still haven't come back.
Neither have grapes, for that matter!
Apparently a man found a black widow spider in his organic grapes, so they halted the supply (at least around here) for months.
