Hi, my name is Chanda. I live in California.
I had been curious about raw food for a little while but had no idea where to begin when a new friend of mine sent me to Alissa's website. I immediately bought the Living on Live Food book.
When I started reading it I felt a glowing light inside me begin to burn. I actually felt a tingle of energy that I haven't felt since I was a small child and I haven't even eaten anything raw yet!
Right now at 34, I am a mess. I have chronic fatique, chronic pain, terrible migranes, panic disorder, sleep disorders, my spine is a complete wreck and much much more. I live my active life from 7am until about 10am where I do the one thing which gives me any relief, I ride my horse. Then I head home and have to lay down or fall down. I am in intense pain all day everyday. I don't even have enough energy to feed myself. If it wasn't for my hubby I would starve. I obviously can't work very much and I have been like this since I was about 9 years old.
Today I did my first all raw grocery trip. I was actually clueless about what some of the things on the list were (what the heck is a shallot? How do I figure out what squash is what? hehe). I also was not able to find some of the raw nuts I needed, or raw tahini. I think I did OK though for my first time. I am going to try another market tomorrow for the last remaining items.
My hubby had agreed to try this out with me which I am really excited about. I have a question about his food allergy so I will ask it in a different post.
Wish me luck with this new and amazing way too eat!
Thanks,
Chanda
