As I sit here thinking about my life (being raw doesn't really change anything)

Eating raw foods helps me physically maintain my energy, and release pain, it helps me emotionally to be more centered, to make better and more loving decisions in my life, especially when dealing with others.

But eating raw really doesn't change anything. I haven't found a million dollars, or traveled to the moon, I haven't done anything truly inspiring, but then again, maybe I have.

When I think of the fact that by my eating raw foods, it has helped others, by telling them about my food choices, by talking to someone in the super market, by talking to the farmers' market people about organic, and why we buy so much produce when it is just the two of us.

About my son and his kids eating raw.

I see that although my eating raw has actually changed or help to change so many people that I've met.

Can you imagine how many people that we have all touched, our families, co-workers, relatives, doctors, grocery clerks, people in checkout isles, etc. Just think how many people you have talked to about raw, or who have noticed your weight loss, or improved health.

I can count maybe 2000 off the top of my head, how about you?

I know some of you are raw teachers, so, you can count those families too.

I bet you FEEL like a million dollars & some days you may be so high, it's as though you can TOUCH the moon.

That's why it is a journey. Going through the Raw experience means that no matter how far you go you are going to learn something. If you go through any experience in this life and not learn something there was no need for you to have gone through it.

When you learn valuable lessons through any experiences in this life you are held responsible for the lesson learned or you are bond to repeat the opposite of that lesson. So if you are responsible for what you learned aren't you responsible for sharing those experiences with others.

Thanks to Alissa, the mods and all the other completely Raw wise minds I have learned from. I know there is more to learn and l am looking forward to learning and growing with this journey :)

Christine I had a dream about you two nights ago. I'm walking down a street I've never been on before and I walk right on into your house where you are making a yummy salad and the dressing is pinkish-orange. We walk though the living room which I scan for any of your art...mostly I notice a bamboo type of theme going on, and then settle in the back side of the house. Draggon is there helping you, but he looks Danish, perhaps Revvel's husband. Another weird thing about this dream is that I have just discovered that rawjojo lives in our cul-de-sac and we are traveling together.

So, you ask if raw has changed my life. Well my dream life for sure!

Hi RP! Your post got me thinking just now... Wow... yes I agree. We do touch peoples lives around us and sometimes don't even know it. Just the other day a young girl bagging my groceries at the checkout aisle recognized me immediately and said -- "Hey that's the healthy guy -- he only eats vegetables!" As if that should be so unusual. I was impressed that she referred to me as the "healthy" guy instead of "health nut" or vegetarian or even Raw Foodist. ;)

People do notice changes too. If you've lost over 20 lbs or more the difference can be staggering to some people. And those that notice will almost every time ask what you're doing to lose the weight.

Hopefully, I can lead by example and encourage others to try and eat healthier. Probably have mentioned this diet to at least a few thousand people directly/indirectly. For example, "I only eat raw fruits and vegetables" is what I say every time I checkout at the grocery store. Or, in response to how'd you get so skinny -- "I only eat raw fruits and vegetables".

Good luck to you on your new resolve to go as RAW as possible. I wish you well.

Signficantly, I find that raw has helped evolve the person I truly am and thus those qualities even when unspoken, have been "contagious." I have strangers that will just draw to me at the HFS and ask for advice on food choices, supplements etc or the gals at the grocery store who hunt me down asking for dietary advice b/c I had one conversation with one employee as she was asking for advice on what to eat and it spiraled from there!

LOL,,,,,yesterday, the mailman stopped me at the gas station as he was filling his tank and commented on how I seemed so vibrant and sees me walking /jogging all the time. It was an exhange of kind words.....

So even though, I go quietly out into the world without a signage that reads RAW FOODIST, itrs within me--I really don't need to find winning lotto ticket or such to validate my raw endeavors........

Hmmmm, Change is inevitable. :)

lodestar,

Well, you might be psychic LOL

we do have some bamboo furniture in our Zen Buddha room, which is between the summer studio and the main studio, and we do have some bamboo furniture out by our hot tub, by MOST of our furniture, is super heavy dark wood, with massive deep carvings--very European-- and mostly antiques, very thick heavy stuff, I can hardly lift any of it.

And we just did Dragggon's hair platinum blond for a TV gig, and shaved off ALL of his beard and mustache, first time any one has seen his upper lip in 17 years, first time I ever saw it too,
and he is tall and slender so could look Danish.

so, there you go.

For me personally it is in the process of really changing my life. Overall it has helped with my eating disorder tremendously. I am getting more self-confidence and doing more things that I could only dream of. I can't explain it, but it's opened up a whole new world that I've only put a toe in. I can't wait to step in it completely.

before my new Raw Living diet I viewed Food as an ENEMY..I looked at it as what it would DO TO ME....now I look at food as my friend and view it as what it will do FOR ME !

what a drastic change from fear of food making me fat, now it is food will keep me looking good for life !

Raw has helped me with my eating disorder. I was thinking of having my eyes done with surgery. If I stay totally raw my eyes look great. A friend of mine who I told about raw has lost 49 pounds.
