The Commonwealth Games were recently held in Melbourne, Australia, where I live. The street I live in was part of the cycling course. I was feeling particularly weak from detox on Sunday morning. I was watching some of the men's race on the corner of our street. It was a steep, sharp turn. We were sitting on a crash barrier. I was holding a large bottle of water. It slipped out of my hand and rolled under the barricade and a couple of metres onto the track. Nobody knew what to do. We couldn't jump over from our side. Not long after, an international cyclist came around the corner really fast and missed the bottle by about ten centimetres. Crowds of people stared at me. Luckily it wasn't a whole pack of them, because, most likely they would have crashed and I could have caused a big pile up. I would never live it down. Luckily an official from the other side retrieved it for me, before the next cyclists shot past. I'm very, very lucky.
